I mean yeah lol but it's moving (happy and sad) in the most beautiful and healing way it can be (contrast with this episode of FMAB where it's just all pain and sadness lol)

It’s 14 episodes and 2 movies of the most earnest and heartfelt story you can find, and the best art & music. It’s about a former child soldier in post-war times (roughly 1920s)

It takes some very heavy topics and does a masterful job at adding in the gut punches with the amazing voice acting, sound tracks and build up of characters and story. Avatar and Korra were good stepping stones to prepare for this, but it will definitely take an adjustment. The reason they add in so many silly goofy animations is to balance the darkness of the subjects they touch on. Glad you are reacting to it, and hope that it does not traumatize you too much. I promise the bright spots and coolness of this show far outweigh how dark it gets.
