Claire and Dean playing putt putt is one of my favorite scenes with their quoting and banter! It's essential she got to see another side of his murderous rage (which was wrong but also came from his super protective older brother traits) and see his silliness since they both are snarky. Sam gets the emotional, bonding but also professional tips whereas Dean gets the fun and rash connections which offset each other.

loved watching this! i always enjoy mid-episode seeing you put things together so quickly.
one thing i always think about (so my personal interpretation) when dean discusses whether it's better and easier for claire to be alone vs what sam says is that it is about the MOC but goes back to their childhood as well. for sam, growing up with dean and his dad he was protected and being with others was a benefit to him. dean OTOH was always in the role of protector and had to grow up way too fast. i imagine even tho he missed his brother that sams sanford years held an element of relief as well. (clearly i am the oldest, clearly grew up too fast as well.) not relief like he didn't miss sam or something, just that he couldn't ever rest unless he was alone. i agreed with sam, but i understood dean much better.
