And listening to the two of you asking the same questions and trying to understand him in the same way I tried all those years ago is just too good. Can't wait to watch it all shake out for you guys.

2023-07-17 20:31:38 +0000 UTCPeople always talk about how fast-paced this show is, how explosive, but episodes like this will always be around and I appreciate the show that much more for them. The fast-moving plot is interesting but it wouldn't be nearly as impactful if we didn't really know the characters in it, their motivations, their deeper feelings. Also, Cranston's acting in that pillow scene was just fantastic. I don't think we need to go a lot deeper on the background of what went down between Gretchen, Elliot and Walt. The general idea has been established and the details don't really matter. And apart from a clunky, unnecessary flashback exposition scene, there is really no good way to get that information to the viewer because the people involved obviously don't want to directly talk about it. At least Walt clearly doesn't.
