2023-09-07 07:40:28 +0000 UTCSozin did go to help but when Roku was hit by the toxic gas he realized he could start his war plan if Roku didn't survive the disaster. It was a last minute decision but he was genuinely there to help at first

2023-08-06 20:31:37 +0000 UTCI played the mobile game and Kyoshi’s girlfriend looks like Roku when he was young, Rokus wife looks like Aang, Korra looks similar to Katara, and the avatar before Kyoshi I think his name was Korin the water bender who lost his love to the centipede spirit the face stealer looks a little like Kyoshi without the face paint

2023-08-02 21:33:08 +0000 UTCComic book spoiler: Ozai and Ursa’s marriage was arranged. Fire Lord Azulon thought that Roku’s granddaughter Ursa has “Avatar blood” in her (just a personal theory of his), therefore Ozai’s offspring would be super powerful. Royal Fire Nation blood and Avatar blood.

2023-08-02 19:13:32 +0000 UTCIs that canon? Korra just looks like someone from the Water Tribe, not necessarily like Katara. Yes, they look similar but that’s just because they’re in the same genetic pool of people. But when I look back, Ta Lin (sp?) does have Airbender eyes… and Kyoshi’s girlfriend is from the Fire Nation. So this is interesting.

2023-08-02 19:13:19 +0000 UTCMaybe Korra spoiler alert ahead?: There’s an interesting theory about Yue and Korra. Yue was born an empty vessel as we know, and the theory goes that she was supposed to be the next Avatar after Aang but because he got frozen she didn’t. So she had to have the moon spirit give her some of its life in order to live. Korra’s grandfather was Chief of the Northern Water Tribe. So “the Avatar Spirit” was destined to seek out someone in the royal bloodline of the water tribes. Something to ponder. That being said, yes, the Avatar spirit isn’t bound to one family but maybe in this case in history it was. Pretty cool I think

2023-08-02 19:07:37 +0000 UTCSozin's want to expand is arguably the most common justification conquering nations attempt to use - to spread the prosperity and power of their nation to the rest of the world. It's a lie at it's core, but it's used often by conquerors, colonizers, and empires.

2023-07-29 22:41:37 +0000 UTCWhen the avatar is reborn they are reborn in the likeness of the previous avatars significant other. If you continue to The Legend of Korra you might understand a little.

2023-07-07 17:19:53 +0000 UTCThere's a lot of politics behind Sozins decisions that are in the novels that date back even before Sozin . Also don't forget there was twelve years between Roku leaving and Sozin proposing the idea of expansion.

2023-07-06 02:39:17 +0000 UTCSozin went to the island to help his old friend because through it all he still cared for him, but when Roku was weakened to the point of needing Sozin's help that is when his pride and vanity took over, so he let Roku die rather than save him so he could see his plan through. I don't believe Sozin went to the island with nefarious intentions but when the opportunity presented itself he gave into his demons.

2023-07-04 17:02:35 +0000 UTCI feel Monk Gyatso was destined to be Aang's guardian because he was good friends with Avatar Roku when they were young. He knew what was best for both Aang and the Avatar spirit within him.

2023-07-04 05:31:29 +0000 UTCZuko's character development in this "kids show" is still some of the best writing I've ever seen

2023-07-04 00:20:21 +0000 UTCThey aren't genetically related. The spirit of the Avatar isn't bound to one family. If there's such a thing, they're spiritual cousins, Aang and Zuko. But then, Aang's spirit is both the spirit of Zuko's great-grandfather and that of a random Airbender boy.

2023-07-03 19:55:10 +0000 UTCZuko and Aang are not related, at least not by blood

2023-07-03 15:00:29 +0000 UTC- I love how since season 1 episode 1 this entire show has been the parallel stories of both Aang and Zuko, especially when they do background episodes like this one and The Storm. I also love how much symbolism they have with Zuko's scar throughout the series where the two sides of his face mirror not only the conflict within himself, but (as we now know) the conflict of his two bloodlines coming together between his two great grandfathers. Some of the greatest writing I've seen in any series. Loving the reactions ! | : ] '
