This is based on my observations, nothing officially written about it:
S7.17 - Born Again Identity - I believe Sera wrote this episode as a special case - to bring back Cas/Misha, who I think is going to be in one of Jeremy's main plot arcs going forward, as shown in S8. Sera's earlier main PR talk has no intention of bringing Cas back and now she's writing about him? (Even Misha recently confirmed this rumor that Cas's death was permanent). In a middle season normal episode slot on top of premieres and finales? Sounds suspicious.

Oh and as for episode 17s go, if there are no behind-the-scenes real-life happenings, the 17th episode normally is going to be just that - a normal mytharc or standalone episode. Should there be an upheaval or overhaul in the lineup concerning the show, i.e. a change in showrunner, then the 17th or 18th depending on the number of episodes for the season (22/23/20 episodes) will be affected. But don't hold me to this - this is merely my observations.

Crossroads demons can teleport in order to grant the requestor's request simultaneously with the request's being made; however, since we first see Crowley teleport of his own volition in Season 6, it's possible he got self-directed teleportation as the King of Hell. I can't remember if this is otherwise contradicted, so I'll go with it. :-) What a great edit/request and reaction! I hadn't seen this panel.

If I remember correctly, in one of the write-ups about this panel, when Bob Singer started dissing on Felicia, there were audible gasps of shock among the audiences. Felicia is very popular at SDCC, she has numerous panels and thousands of fans there. Yeah, Singer dissing her was obviously a skit, but the audience didn't know about it and they thought, what an odious little old man badmouthing my girl, lol.
So, when Ben Edlund was no longer on the panel for this SDCC, we came to know that he left the show. He had been at, I don't know, every year SPN panels, I think? Which was very upsetting news to fans. The new guy they brought for the new season's writers roster was Bobo Berens, whose debut episode is no. 6. They also brought back writing duo Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder, who previously left the show during S7. Their last episode was My Heart Will Go On in S6.
Between the 3 new-ish writers, Bobo is the one shining bright, Shelley. For this season, Bobo's debut episode is the one to watch out for, episode 6. Then, in S10 he starts showing his true writing colors, and boy oh boy, I am excited for you to see his episodes in the coming seasons. Eventually, he was promoted and during the S15 SDCC, he even joined the last Supernatural panel. And now he is the showrunner for another CW series, Kung Fu.

So, this year SDCC S9 is the start of my headlong love relationship with the SPN-SDCC edition. Towards the end of the series, for a few years, I even took leave from work to satisfy my thirst for finding every little morsels of news of the show and casts and filming titbits (read - spoilers). Don't judge me - it was very hard to wait from May to October every year for any updates of the coming season, you know.
Most times they show gag reels after the panels. Also, not to mention Zachary Levy's wonderful Nerd HQ panels. There were strict rules that no recording of the gag reel was allowed, but someone always did. Then after Osric join the series, he just blatantly recorded and, no never mind, just upload them to his yt channel, lol.

Wow, this really took me back. Nice … Thank you, Vel for the request.
I found this interesting tidbit about Hall H and Supernatural panels,
“The famous Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con is the convention's mega-size room, which can hold 6500 people. It's here that all the huge movie panels are held, but for the most part, it's not been a place you'd find TV-oriented panels. The big exception was Lost, which had a set spot in Hall H for many years. But besides one year for Heroes and a Kevin Smith panel he piggybacked Reaper onto (having directed the pilot), that was it for TV in Hall H… until now.
Warner Bros. TV announced their very impressive Comic-Con lineup today ..., and revealed Supernatural will be held in Hall H on Sunday. The CW series has typically had its panel on Sundays at the convention and has always been packed. Going into Season 7, Supernatural has proven its popularity and now it's getting Comic-Con's biggest platform, with a panel in Hall H on July 24th.” - SDCC 2011 - IGN
So, Supernatural’s panel has been ata Hall H starting from S7, and every year onwards we’ve been there until the S15 panel, which speaks very highly of the CW’s little show that could, I am very proud of it.

All of the regular cast members have said on more than one occasion that the writers eventually meld the actor and the character together when writing for them. It makes for a more authentic experience as the viewer, and an easier job for the actors (which - if anyone knows can get very long and tedious on set...so any break they get is a good thing). Over the years, we've seen this happen with J2 especially...but Misha and probably Mark, too. Which is probably why they are so protective of their characters. How many actors are main characters on a show for 15 seasons...? Can't blame them.

This was really interesting. Great reaction! 😊
There is a lot of character bleed from Dean to Jensen. Lol! Which is actually interesting in view of some stuff in my December request. I'm interested to see if you make the connection when you watch mine, Shelley.
Love this one as always. 😁

This was a fun request, i love that Felicia was there 😍, "does Jensen know that he's not dean?" 😂 The answer is no, Jensen IS dean for the most part, huge character bleed, it's hard to tell where dean ends & Jensen starts lol. Episodes 17s really tend to be big for Misha &/or cas in one way or another lol, i only noticed this rewatching along your reactions, we'll see if this trend continues
