2023-03-25 10:14:56 +0000 UTCi was so excited for you to get here! there are so many great moments in these episodes, from Zhao's truly unhinged speech (which Momo ruins haha), to everything in Katara's story (ahem, Master Katara), the awesome display of the Avatar's power, and the slightest tease of Zuko's sister, who is amazing. These episodes do make me feel kid-like excitement.

Starting from mid S2 through the end of S3 is just (in my opinion) where the show writers REALLY got into the groove and they never let down in their delivery of straight A stories. 2023-03-16 19:18:21 +0000 UTCIn the episode 12 "the storm" flashback where young Zuko got his face burned, you can Zuko's sister in the audience sitting next to Iroh. Also Zuko's sister has been in the intro sequence this whole time. Seems like some great long term planning from the writers.

2023-03-16 05:51:40 +0000 UTCFYI, Aang's tattoos indicate his status as a Master Airbender. It's not a spoiler; it's never explained in the show. If you go back and watch Ep. 1x12 "The Storm", you can see that Aang is the only student with his arrow tattoos. He achieved the rank of Master at a very early age by normal standards. His "thesis" was inventing the Air Scooter that he taught to the other students. Note the exquisite color work in the finale. Full black and white when the moon disappears, interrupted only by the red-orange of the momentary fire blasts as they illuminate their faces and nearby landscape. Also, only Yue's eyes are colored. They remain blue throughout this sequence, a hint to her significance. Aang's giant fish kaiju form after merging with the Ocean Spirit is affectionately known in the fandom as Koizilla. Arianna went hardcore lobster! And this show WILL make you cry again. Congratulations. You've reached the top of the Avatar lift hill. Enjoy the ride! Loving your reactions! I love seeing you as invested in this show as we all were. Wish we could experience it again for the first time, so it's really gratifying to see new people fall in love with it!
