Ppl can’t all know about monsters lmao not learning shit offline and passing around fake stories and breeding chaos… telling more ppl gets more ppl killed. Hunters all die earlier deaths than they would have if they weren’t hunting… ppl would accuse ppl they didn’t like or whatever and then what? That person does even though they’re innocent bc they can claim they were some monster. Humans murder and pillage already… imagine the paranoia spread… ppl trying to fight things they’re not prepared to fight. That would be a horrible idea. And there already are plenty of ppl sharing about monsters anyway lol

Lol you’re okay with Sam not talking about his feelings when Dean asks bc “Sam doesn’t like when he does that” but when Dean says he’s fine when Sam asks in a mocking tone to deflect his own feelings .. you scream at him to talk about it? Please remove the Sam biases glasses… it’s out of control. Considering Sam was hiding how bad he was, flat out lying to deans face, cas said sams so broken he can’t even fix him… Dean has every reason to ask Sam so maybe he will tell the truth. Let’s not jump all over Dean every time while making any excuse possible for Sam being petty lol So screaming to “fuck off” to Dean… when sams the one hiding things… and deflecting onto Dean instead of being honest… sams being an ass… he said “good talk” bc Sam didn’t answer and tried to turn it on dean. You get Dean is one of the good guys right lol It’s sams fault that it turned out that kind of talk… not deans. There’s nothing for Dean to even talk about ffs … keep up girl!!!

Yeah, Helen I totally agree that Sam sincerely asking Dean if he was alright. "Cas dinged you up pretty good". Cas beat the crap out of him and it is reasonable to think it might have hurt him. They are best friends and I think it did hurt his feelings. But as we know Dean can't let himself appear vulnerable, so he just deflects with a wise crack. I'm pretty excited for the next episode.

Krissy is a great character and I love how Dean respects her and accepts her decision to stay. I'll probably be attacked for saying it, but Sam was genuinely asking about how Dean was feeling, not trying to distract him. Sam knows how much his friendship with Cas means to Dean and he cares.

I replied about how I don't think the rule is simply a species-related bias below, but I very much see your point about how it would have been hard to prove that, specifically, Victor had been responsible for these murders. It's a pretty unique situation, and Victor pulled a gun before we could see to what extent Sam and Dean would've agreed with Krissy's plan to punish Victor with simple ostracization. Without other parameters preventing Victor from reorganizing, etc., etc., it doesn't seem like a realistic long-term solution... But then again, it's a one-hour show and he shot himself, so... problem solved?

SKK

I've never really considered the "we don't kill people" rule to be a species-related bias. When humans do bad things (i.e. kill), there's a legal system in place to - however imperfectly - punish and - hopefully - potentially - maybe - rehabilitate them while under watchful guard. In the world of Supernatural, it's impossible to segregate "bad" monsters within a human prison population. We've already seen how humans fare when they're in lockdown with monsters and ghosts. (Seasons 5 and 2, respectively, spring to mind as examples.)

SKK

When you said "he's such a dad, he's such a mom, he's such a PARENT!" I replied out loud "He's been one his whole life!" and that was the next thing you said! hahaha! I think one of the reasons I enjoy watching this with your reactions is because you get Dean. That just warms my heart.

I totally forgot about Jeffery! Did Dean kill one of the brothers in The Benders? I remember the Sheriff killing the dad, but I don't re-watch that one much. Yeah they really gave up exercising and just went with the stabbing

Brenda Lewis

Agree completely, i never liked that the show portrayed humans as superior to other species even though we know they are not all bad

Hasnaa

Same braincell 😂

Lol, I just said that in a reply above. I should have just kept reading 😂

I will have to think on what situations Dean has killed people. He killed Jeffrey near the end of 7x15 Repo Man, but that was to stop him from killing another guy that was possessed by the demon. Benders he would have, but that was also a kill or be killed situation and Sam and the Sheriff wielded the shotguns. So far, I cannot think of any, other than not trying much anymore to exercise demons, they just stab the people so they can’t smoke out and get more demon help.

AdoptDontShopPets

I always thought the "we don't kill people," rule was self righteous and didn't make sense. People can be just as monstrous and evil as any monster, and monsters can be good, so saying Sam and Dean just feel it's alright to murder if its a different species, that's pretty crappy. Aswell, what would would have done with victor if he didn't kill himself, they wouldn't have been able to jail him or prove anything, so we're we're just gonna let him go, continue to do shit like this again with just a strong talking too, after he had children murdered, it doesn't make sense.

I feel like Sam was honestly sincere when he asked Dean if he needed to talk. True he was deflecting a bit but I think he thinks Cas saying how bad a shape he was in just gave Dean one more reason he can't be trusted to pull off the trials. I think he thinks Dean doesn't really have faith in him So anytime something comes up: the blood, the you are damaged Sam tries to cover because he wants Dean to believe he can get this done. And maybe Sam is just projecting his own insecurity onto Dean's belief about this. But mostly I think they both have unspoken reservations about it all.

Brenda Lewis

They technically kill humans Everytime they kill a demon 🤣 remember when we used to exercise demons 🤣 the good old times

Hasnaa

I can't recall Dean killing a human, but I know for sure Sam did in Sn 6.

I mean, I'm still on season 1 but definitely thought of Buffy (first time I watch this episode also) but, Im currently watching it so maybe that's why it was so fresh to my mind but definitely felt the vibes with the four of them, it putted a smiled on me 😁

Great reaction, as always!! I really love this episode, because I really LOVE Krissy and especially her and Dean's relationship. Anytime Dean interacts with kids it makes me happy. I also really love the way Dean is with her. I think it's obvious, especially at the end with her little cheek kiss that she has a bit of a school-girl crush on him. (who could blame her?). And neither Dean nor the show exploits that, or makes fun of her for it, or treats her like she's a stupid little girl because of it. The show and Dean are respectful of her feelings and don't "talk down to her". It's very sweet. I love that last interaction with Aidan too: Dean: There's something I need to tell you about Krissy. Aidan: Yeah, I know, you'll kill me if I ever hurt her - blah, blah, blah Dean: No. No, no...she'll kill you. 😄😄 Go Krissy! You were wondering if the boys had ever killed humans, and I'm almost positive they have, (I may not be remembering correctly) but I think that was why Dean amended what he said: Dean: We don't kill people. YOU don't kill people. I think he realized while they may have crossed that line, he didn't want her to cross it too. Because shooting another human being, point blank in the face, would be very difficult for a 16 almost 17 year old girl to recover from. (Krissy was 14 in Season 7, so depending on how close she was to 15 at that point, after a year and a half she'd be 16 headed for 17.) They may not have mentioned Benny, but he's a big reason why Dean's outlook has changed so much. Not the only reason, of course, but a big reason. So glad you enjoyed this episode, I always really enjoy it. I feel like it's a nice little break from the plot heavy episodes. As much as I love the over-arching plot of this season, I still love my MOW episodes! 😊 The next one's amazing - can't wait!! 😁

It's ironic that dean is telling Krissy that hunting isn't about revenge when that was the reason john, dean & Sam all started hunting in the first place, john & Sam especially were very revenge driven after what happened to Mary & Jessica. Dean wanted Sam to talk about what the trials are doing to him & Sam doesn't want to so he retaliates by turning it on dean & asking him to talk about his feelings re cas leaving with the tablet, but of course Mr shove my feelings inside until i drown wasn't gonna open up about it especially if it's just an attempt to turn the conversation on him instead of a genuine check up. I think if Sam had approached dean on his own (about his feelings after cas beat him up & left with the tablet) without it being his "come back" to dean asking him about the trails to get dean off his case, dean would've been more open to talking about it, kinda like when dean said to cas talk to me & cas opened up, people can feel when you're genuine & when you're just trying to push back, that's how I read that scene anyway. I wish dean mentioned Benny to Krissy too, but at least they mentioned cas, Great reaction as usual, Shelley 👏

Enjoyed your rewatch and your journey and questions through the episode. The comparison to Buffy makes sense with them being in a vampire hunt. Happy you have enjoyed even one of the lesser episodes of the season.

A really interesting episode. The areas of gray in this one are crazy. I see kind of the point on both sides if Victor had been on the up and up. But sending kids out to fight monsters on their own is dubious at best. I think Dean would love to think a hunter could have a normal life, but it's almost like once you start doing it you can't seem to stop. And, Sam was being very sincere trying to talk to Dean in the beginning but who thought Dean was EVER going to talk about his feelings. Great reaction Shelley to an ok episode. I think after last weeks though any episode might feel only "ok"
