2021-11-14 09:44:31 +0000 UTCIt was the cats all along!!! the rats were just running freaked out from what must have felt like the cat apocalypse to them :) This is the lowest rated episode of the X-files on IMDB and most people I've know hate it. To me it's not great but not bad either, just pretty good. Overall It gives me a very old horror story vibe which I enjoyed (7.5 out of 10 for me). Glad you all had fun with it. When it comes to "other" cultural politics or worldviews Scully is often pretty conservative, but this might be the most dismissive she's been written. I think Dr. Bilac was killed after he tried to help Mona, thus getting in the way of the curse. Agree that the exact mechanism of how the curse works is a little unclear.
