These movies are so good they literally drain you. I've seen them every year since I was 13 & every time I grin ear to ear & ruin a couple tissues as well. Hope it wasn't too much for you though & a rewatch will make you appreciate everything even more!

This movie cheated: starting with the very long fade to black with Frodo and Sam sitting on the rock in the lava, the movie had something like five or six distinct endings, each with its own fade to black and emotional roundhouse kick to the nuts. It's like Peter Jackson said to himself, "Damn it, I'm going to make sure every motherfucker in the audience has something to cry about." Well played, Mr. Jackson.

2021-12-31 04:46:09 +0000 UTCAmazing reaction! One detail that I always loved is when Gandalf and the eagles go to rescue them. There are 3 eagles 1 was for Sméagol. Gandalf knew he had a part to play in the end and just in case was prepared to rescue him as well.
