This is the episode where Dean finally realized that if he wants to keep Sam from saying yes to Lucifer there are a lot of things that need to change. The monster of the week wasn't the best, but I always laugh at the idea of them fighting Paris Hilton. The monster, after all, was just a background to what really mattered in this episode: the boys figuring their shit out. And if you think about it, this episode was pretty meta, with Paris Hilton playing the part of a pagan god pretending to be Paris Hilton, and making fun of herself the entire time. I love that aspect of the episode so much.

2020-11-06 20:01:25 +0000 UTCi'm doing alright. feeling hopeful for the first time in a long time. but yeah, i can see why that might be a little unfair to blame dean for the first seal in that way. i mean, sam could theoretically point to dean's deal that led them here as well, but all that is tied up in azazel and the hand they were dealt before they were even born. i think the lesson here is that neither are blameless nor are they completely responsible either.

I don't care much for the MOTW stuff in this episode, but I do feel that the stuff going on between the brothers is important. I didn't care for Sam basically putting the blame on Dean for what he did, and Dean just accepting it.
