I don't like the "monster" part of this episode, but the Sam and Dean parts, and the ending, make it at least partly watchable. I'm glad you like it. I especially don't like it when the writers give Dean those stupid lines. Part of my issue with any episode I don't "like" in season 3 is that all I wanted to see were episodes that moved them towards getting dean out of his deal, so anything else didn't much matter to me the first time I watched this season.

That Dean line "could you be anymore gay" makes me roll my eyes (actually, Dean was acting EXTRA defensive and "macho-straight" in this episode for some reason - like, why would he mention a Snow White porno, too? Too much hetero-machismo-Dean bullshit in one episode for me 😂), the premise is good but the execution leaves a lot to be desired, and generally; I feel like Supernatural can do sooo much better regarding comedy. BUT, the beginning where they were yelling at each other and the ending where Sam shoots the crossroads demon make this episode great. Seriously, I love this episode just because of those scenes. So, I'd give this episode a 6/10 just for that. I can't believe Sam shot the demon. He has no idea what consequences this'll have! Seriously, since he died, Sam has changed. He has no hesitation when he has a gun, it's such a stark contrast to his levelheaded "let's talk first" approach from S1 and S2. Also, he knows he did something wrong. Otherwise, he wouldn't have kept Dean out of it. But he had to sneak off in the middle of the night... Thank you, Shelley! I loved this reaction!
