Added 2020-05-14 00:07:00 +0000 UTCI'm so excited and proud to bring my Patrons this new work! I poured my heart and soul into this constantly for the last 8 days. I did around 1,500 vocal takes. I learned so much more about singing in the process and I'm so excited to share that with my fem singing students. <3
This piece is really special to me. This was the first time I felt like I could "move away" from voice and dedicate myself to a big art project since I have been teaching voice and making voice resources. This piece reminds me of everything I've ever made and simultaneously nothing I've made. I feel this is the clearest work I have made and it's the "closest" piece to me as a person. It's almost kind of overwhelming when I listen to it and feels almost too vulnerable.
This piece is created in two primary tuning systems: 31-equal temperament and Just Intonation. The instruments are mostly in 31 and the voice is primarily in Just. As a result, this piece has way cleaner intonation than the vast majority polyphonic music made at this point in history (excluding vocal acapella).

I'm really interested in how you write in 31-equal temperament, like did you program it or assign the notes to a keyboard and learn the parts? Were you hearing the 31ET in your head, or was it more messing around and layering as you went? Stuff like that ^u^ no worries if not, and great work!
