I'm super excited to share this piece in just intonation! It has been bringing me joy to work on. This will be an ear tingler!

The composition uses a 34 tone unequal harmonic scale. It's based of the prime 17. Then, the prime multiplied by 2:4, creating 34:68. Intervals formed vertically from 34 reflect a unique sound quality and identity unique to 17. This lineal segment has entirely unique intervals except the perfect fifth and the octave.. As such, the octave space of 2:4 is now divided into 32 intervals unique to the family of 17 (septendecimal) and you have fifth + octave. This creates the 2nd octave of septendecimal primodality.

Since this is a complete harmonic scale with no steps missing, every step of the scale is a different size. A harmonic curve is formed in the growth rate between each step. To create equidistant sounding music or scales inside of it, you're required to think closer spacing when composing lower in the scale and wider spacing as you move up the scale. Compensation for the harmonic growth is required.

Here are all the intervals in this scale. The interval names are what I use mentally when I compose. These are all septendecimal intervals except 3/2 and 2/1. This piece was an experiment in wielding larger and fully complete harmonic scales as opposed to subsets or unequal JI mapped to an EDO relationship.
