Hey there awesome patrons,
Here's the latest installment in my singing impressions series. I hope you enjoy!
Additional info:
This one took a long time to make. I feel like I need to raise the bar every time, to not make it feel stagnant. I'm very happy with all of the impressions, even though the one that might be furthest from the original is Ellie Goulding - she utilizes her small vocal chords in a way that's hard to emulate as a guy.
When I do impressions I emulate tone, rasp, pronunciation, articulation, attitude, extra air, intonation, timing and more. After that, I use music production tools to try to come as close as possible to the technical setup/sound as possible. That means, for example, dulling/aging the sound of the Frank Sinatra voice a bit with EQ (emulating the recording technology/mixing style used on his recordings), multiband compression and treble boost on the Chainsmokers track to give their hi-fi sound, a bit of distortion on the Twenty One Pilots voice, and intense auto-tune on the Drake voice. All these artists have technology augmenting their performances, and I make it a point to emulate that in addition to the performance - simply because recording and production technology is a huge part of what makes these artists sound like "them".
Once again, thanks so much for being Patrons. Hope you enjoy the video, and I've got some REALLY cool stuff coming up soon!
