ROT BAR! STICKERS! AND A VERY IMPORTANT POLL...
Added 2025-07-16 13:55:13 +0000 UTCHello Hello morning morning morning.
Hope you're all good. Jake is on holiday at the moment so I'm trying not to text him. You'd be surprised how many things there are that we would text each other about on a normal day, there's genuinely loads of stuff to sort out with this mad little show of ours, but I genuinely want him to relax and thus I'm making lots of decisions without consulting him which, if he knew, would really stress him out.
I'm now long enough post hair transplant that I can exercise again which is a BIG menty aitch boost. However I have also put myself in a calory deficit, which is a BIG menty aitch hit. So my day's are currently a really fun split between hating everything before my first meal and bit of exercise at about 2, after which Im quite hyper active and mental. My family are very, very lucky to share a house with me. Anyway onto the news...
The Rot Bar will be Monday 28th July
Stickers are ready to go and I think I have finished the set up on our online shop, so they can go on sale now if you want them?
We've had a murky review on Apple, and we need your help, more on that below...
So any time we get a 1 star review on Apple, I usually do a post on Insta or even here asking for people to counter balance the begative by giving us some positive ones - it takes a few seconds and reeeaaally helps us in terms of the algorithm and essentially in terms of how much money we get from ads and stuff, so if you would please do that, it really helps, BUT...
The review in question isn't actually 1 star, its 3, and whilst it says some nice things, the guts of it seems to be the guy saying we have lost our bottle since people have started listening to the podcast, in comparison to when we started and it was just us and the spreadsheet boys. There's a specific episode that the reviewer was referring to but I wanna address that notion more generally first before getting onto specifics.
Firstly, I think status is really important in relation to how we try and make the episodes funny. If we're high status and the subject is low, it just isn't as funny. Similarly, us relentlessly taking the piss out of people for an hour, if it feels unjustified, isn't really funny either. For me, the best episodes are the ones where we start with a general 'take' on the subject, and then go on a bit of a journey and up with a conclusion that is separate to that initial take. There are times as well like Gary Gunn where, yeah, it is important to just hammer the cunt for an hour. There is also, and maybe I feel this more than Jake, a bit of an incentive to try and surprise you guys with the takes we have, because that is literally the basis of how jokes work (I'm still in a calory deficit at the moment and my writing is getting unnecessarily bitter and aggy now).
But the reviewer in question was specifically referring to the episode on Tom Skinner, and I know there are many others who felt similar that we went a bit easy on Skinner. He's continued with his politics spiels since the episode was recorded 6 months ago, and many people feel we were perhaps apologetic toward someone who is moving in an ugly direction. If that's the case, it seems there's only one thing for it. So let us know your thoughts on the poll below...
Much love hombres and hombritas xxxxx

Worst thing about skinner 2.0 is the weird Neo nazi yanks who reply to him on ‘X’ with shit like “this is the ideal based Anglo”
