Yes that would be amazing, it is something I considered briefly, but the device simply doesn't have the memory capacity for such a thing. Now the 950 is a different matter, that could pair to a smartphone and download image data on the fly to display map overlays. But then again, if you're going to use a smartphone for map data, you may as well just use it for tracking as well.

Regarding version 03, I'd like to take this opportunity to ask you a question and make a small suggestion: is it possible to make the GPS unit of measurement always remain the same and not have to be set every time you turn it on? It's annoying for those with different systems to have to switch between them every time. Also, a small thing: we don't display speed as Kph, but Kmh, "m" and not "p". Thanks again for your FW, which is making the radio one of the best out there!
