nicFW900 V4.00.13 [firmware only]
Added 2025-05-21 10:10:42 +0000 UTCFor use with SPI Flash App 4.00.11 (Previous Release)
Better battery calibration.
Optimized UI while scanning/monitoring, less flickery.
Introduces squelch transition cool-down timers, attempting to prevent stuttering.
Squelch hi-noise close will no longer check other squelch parameters, is now absolute.
Frequency Scanner should now be able to switch between VHF and UHF by itself, although to accomplish this overall detection time may increase by a second or so.
Comments
DTMF volume is also influenced by the TX Deviation, so take that into account also. The side buttons are set functions, I felt making every keypad button programmable was enough. Bottom side button long press enables/disables squelch override, short press switches channel banks. 1750Hz tone is also on the bottom side button during TX.

2025-05-21 20:28:42 +0000 UTC2 questions: - PF3 Button already programmable? Current funtions are Monitoring and something else, which I cannot find out - 1750 Hz Burst tone is on which Button? Experiences so far: DTMF Volume should be at least 40, otherwise DTMF Codes are not always recognized properly

2025-05-21 19:44:24 +0000 UTCDarn, that setting should have a default, dunno how I missed that now I can't remember the scale. Around 5 to 10 or so.

2025-05-21 12:27:44 +0000 UTCNot seeing anything like that my side, sorry. I use mostly default settings. Been running an airband scan (default preset) for ages now, no problems what so ever and absolutely not anything you just described. Noise gate: Off AM AGC Level: 100 Squelch: 4 Squelch Noise Level: 38 Noise Ceiling: 55

2025-05-21 12:07:29 +0000 UTCCould I get a sanity check on the right values to use for the following? Noise Gate On/Off AM AGC Level Squelch Noise Level I am seeing some weird behaviour (in the last release as well - really long squelch tails, squelch never cutting in at all, scan resume not seeming to count down) but I am thinking possibly I have settings fighting other settings rather than anything in the firmware. Thanks!

2025-05-21 11:29:35 +0000 UTCIs there a recommended RFI comp value I should be using? Or better to leave it off and see what results I get?
