nicFW900 V4.00.08

Here's the new "stepped" TX Power system. I have set the default power calibration that I hope will be reasonably accurate for most on the HAM bands.

Make sure the first you do is to write the default power calibration SPI Settings from the SPI app using the calibration tab. This is essential as the power settings are now completely different and not compatible with previous code plugs.

The settings work in a similar way to previously in that every 5 MHz range can be configured, but there's no need to do all of them, the closest set range will be selected and used for any given frequency.

As always this is a very early release and I have been trying to get this out quickly, so expect things not to be perfect.

Update: The firmware image has been updated to .09, link here

EDIT: It seems that the "ZERO" setting on VHF doesn't seem to work properly. Sorry about that, it'll be sorted for a future release.

Not a single reply. I'm sure people want me to fix this, how about a little help?

I have gotten my radio to get into this "off-frequency" state. The radio isn't deaf, just tuned to the wrong frequency somehow. What is odd is that on VHF I am getting no output at all, on UHF every frequency below 500 MHz is off, transmits on 499.300 MHz or roundabaouts. But frequencies of 500 MHz or above is okay, very odd. For me this state happened from power-on, not after 30 mins/an hour. I need this verifying from others, when in this state, does setting the radio to 500 MHz work okay but normal HAM frequencies do not?

Not sure if this is anything or will help, but here is the Others Tab from the RT-900 Adjust RF Parameters v1.2 app. I noticed that my Battery ADC Values are different than default values. Also my Cry Cal is the same as default whereas someone else's was at +1 I think. I bring this up because I noticed that for the High, Mid and Low averages on the TX Power Tabs lined up pretty close with my setting for the Output Power Adjustment Bias settings for Very High, High and Medium. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yFh3QglL6McrKB6l70Bkg5Q2q4VcXEKQ/view?usp=sharing

Xtal set to 0. Changing it doesnt helps

At this moment, after several hours of use, the radio has become completely nonfunctional. Neither transmission nor reception works. The frequency is set to 145.150 MHz, yet the device neither receives nor transmits. In monitor mode, it only produces static noise—which remains constant even when near another transmitter. I reverted to version .07, and everything is operating correctly. Version .08 appears to be significantly underdeveloped.

Awesome the 0-7 works perfect.

I have the same problem after 30 minutes the rt900 becomes deaf I switch it off and on and it works for 30 minutes and then deaf again.

I left rt 900 on, after 30mins I noticed that repeater was active but rt 900 was deaf again. I will reset settings to default and check.

That's true about the FM radio stations. You only get an audio if you set the squelch to 0.

Yes I can update the channels and bandplan with the step names, but for now, values from 0-7 will serve the same purpose. Anything larger than 7 will cap to 7.

Looks to be working pretty good. Man it's a pain trying to get each range configured in UHF. There is so much fluctuation even between 460 and 462. But I am liking this new method and it make it's pretty straight forward. No rush, but could you update the Channels tab to have the Power Level steps (ie. low, mid, high...) instead of TX Power 1-255. Noticed no audio on FM radio stations. I get a good signal, but no audio. I verified it's enabled in band plan. I have a few stations programed and tried by long pressing 8 s well. Both show a strong signal but no audio.
