HyperCurtisisation w/ Owen Hatherley, Juliet Jacques, and Alberto Toscano

Owen Hatherley, Juliet Jacques, and Alberto Toscano join PTO to talk about Adam Curtis's new BBC series Can't Get You Out of My Head. We chatted about Curtis' politics, the changes in his documentary style since the early 1990s, and why he avoids talking about neoliberalism.

I have been a Curtis fan since June 1992, so this was great. It really is important to acknowledge how funny he can be, in particular I remember a neat confluence of script and an image of Khrushchev peering behind a fence board. Portillo is a grammar school boy, I thought. But Peterhouse history in the 1970s. Very sad to hear that list of 1992 BBC programming in the context of the comments about today's BBC. I haven't lived in Britain for a decade now, but I still go round saying how the quality of British television is so good. Perhaps it is time to reconsider

Cant wait to listen to this
