Early Release: Squirrel! + Santa Hat option!!

UPDATED: After getting feedback from a few people that had some difficulty inserting the Connector pins, I went through the model and adjusted the tolerances and strength. Additionally, I designed a simple tool I'm calling the "ConnectorHelper". It can be used to add a bit more leverage and a larger pressing surface when inserting the pins. I made a new Assembly Demo Video to show how to use that tool. These updates should hopefully make it much easier for everyone to assemble. Re-Download v02 to get this update. Cheers!

Hi Everyone!!

Introducing my new Squirrel design!! Getting a bit of a head start on the Holiday season, this one comes with an alternate head wearing a Santa Hat!

I'm trying something a little different with this design, utilizing more of the Connector joints, for added posing options and more flexibility in the design stage. As a result, this one has a bit more snap-fit assembly required when compared to my other designs, but I think it's worth it for the added benefits. Here's a Demo Video that shows the assembly!

3D PRINTING SETTINGS:

• Body: Print in place

• Heads (Regular and Santa versions): Snap-fit to Body using Connector Head. There is a small custom brim around the head to help with adhesion. Remove and discard it after printing

• Tail: Snap-fit to Body

• Arms Lf & Rt: Snap-fit to Body using Connector Legs

• Hands Lf & Rt: Snap-fit to Arms Lf & Rt

• Legs Lf & Rt: Snap-fit to Body using Connector Legs

• Feet Lf & Rt: Snap-fit to Legs Lf & Rt

• Connector Head (x2): Use to connect the heads to the body.

• Connector Legs (x4): Use to connect the Legs and Arms to the body.

• “Squirrel_Full” STLs: All parts pre-arranged in one file. File options with and without the Santa head.

• Multicolor 3MFs: (Compatible with PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, Orca based slicers)
  -”5Color_BrownStyle” (5 colors, but deleting the Santa head reduces it to 4 colors)
  -”4Color_GrayStyle” (4 colors, but deleting the Santa head reduces it to 3 colors)
  -”SantaHeadOnly_4Color_BrownStyle” (To print Head separately in 4 Color/Brown Style)

• Tool_ConnectorHelper: Simple tool to aid in inserting connector pins (see video)

• No supports 

• 10%-15% Infill (I recommend Gyroid, Crosshatch or 3D Honeycomb)

• 3 Walls. (Assuming 0.4mm nozzle. Adjust wall count to account for alternate nozzle sizes)

• This should generally scale down to about 65% with full articulation, on a well calibrated printer.  Your mileage may vary.
