The eyeball and the pupil are both painted black in the dart frog 3MF. If you have a 4-color printer, and want the eyeball to be a different color, you’d have to take a color from somewhere else. For the aqua sample, I combined the body and leg accent colors into one, then used the extra slot for the eyeballs. The other dart frog prints just have fully black eyes.

They are extension links to add in-between Body Front and Rear to make the snake longer if you want. They are optional. They should not be different sizes, though they do have different side detail so that you can continue the alternating pattern of the rest of the body. There is a video link in the roborattler post that shows the assembly.

Hmm. It’s still using Google Drive links like always. I have heard of rare instances where the Google drive links don’t work correctly for some reason. Usually clearing the browser cache fixes it (type CTRL + F5 on this post), or try clicking the link in a different web browser or incognito/private browser window.

I've noticed a severe lack in canines in all the files. There's lots of variety of animals but it's surprising to see no Canines at all. A lot of my clients love canines and want canine fidgets so I'm curious if you intent to release canines in the future? Things like Wild Dogs, wolves, domestic dogs, hyenas (even though they're not actually canines, haha), things like that.

To clarify. There are not individual keychain and non-keychain 3MF files. If you load the 3MF into BambuSutfio, there are two Lambs inside it, one is the keychain and one is the regular version. You then can delete the model that you don’t want to print from the plate.

I googled the error and found this... https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/1cmbuwh/unhandled_unknown_exception_terminating_the/ Looks like maybe Bambu crashed and didn't fully exit, so it was messing up any other bambu sessions. Their solution was to kill any BambuStudio tasks in the Task Manager, and then try again. Hope that helps!

Bambu 1.10.276 looks like the error is a me issue it's doing it to some other models from different creators too. But not all of them. Which is odd.

Just downloaded again same error on Keychain and v01 (says unhandled unknown exception program termination) I've never seen that error before. 3mf folder Just has MmMini_lamb_Multicolor_V01 (which is the key chain).

The 3MF contains both the regular version and the keychain version. Not sure why you would be getting an error loading the STLs. Which slicer are you using? Maybe the download got corrupted. Perhaps try redownloading it.

Ill second Mikes suggestions and ill throw out my suggestions set your bed temp to 60 no aux fan. I use the standard optimal .16 profile with those 2 changes. The 50% mini mini cat cat tiger are amazingly detailed for a .4 nozzle. Good luck. I cant wait for more minis

They print at 50% for me with pretty close to default settings. The main thing is to make sure your print bed is properly cleaned and prepped. That can vary depending on which plate you have. You may even look into the new super-tack plate, or a PLU plate like the sliceworx ones. They have amazing adhesion. Aside from that, maybe slow down the print speeds. I typically use 60mm/s for outer wall speeds. For super small prints like that, maybe slow down the inner wall speeds a bit too.

They should still print fine in Bambu Studio. I make them in PrusaSlicer because that provides the most cross-slicer compatibility. All you should need to do is load them as data and then assign your ams filaments to the prepare > filament slots. Not sure where you’re getting varying temperatures from unless some of your slots are set to abs or something like that. Best habit is to load your ams and set the color and filament type there, then go to the prepare tab and select each ams slot in the “filament” drop downs. I am super new to printing so bear with me. When i pull any of your files into bambu i get a the 3mf is not from bambu load geometry data then unable to print multiple filaments which have large temperature differences together. Any recommendations welcomed.

When I import the multicolor roaring tiger into Bambu Studio, it shows it as one color. Colors can be changed in some areas, like eyes, tail. Some toenails will change others will not. No stripes. One color for head. Any ideas?

If you mean zooming in to get a closer look to paint details. I just use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in closer. To scale multiple objects together uniformly, hold CTRL while clicking all of the objects you want to scale. That will group select them. Then select the scale tool, click and drag a corner of the manipulator box to enlarge the models (or you can numerically enter a scale value in the tool options).

This can be done without changing the model. If you are using dark gray for the mask and painting the eyeballs Black, the black eyes will finish before the red of the hat starts. So swapping the black to red should get you the 5 color print. If that makes sense. Swapping the black and red would be safer too, because both of those colors require more purge than most others.

I was just working on printing the Santa Hat Raccoons on my A1 with AMS Lite. I would love to be able to do 5 colors (similar to the pics of the non-santa mini raccoon). If the back side of the hat's brim were just 2-3 layers higher, I'd be able to switch out the eye mask (dark gray) color for red by pausing the printer before it gets to the first red layer. Would love to see this tweak if you still have time.

It’s hard to know without knowing the details. There are tons of variables that can cause print failures. You can private message me (click my icon here) if you want to troubleshoot it in more detail. I’ve never had issues with them myself. If you are losing adhesion, I would try cleaning the plate, re-leveling the bed, and maybe add a brim. Increasing the brim gaps to something like 0.3mm can help make them easier to remove.

Hi, I have a question. I recently joined and downloaded all the bonus files. I've not gotten through them all yet but in the magnets .... there are several that say they have two versions (captive... where I assumed it meant the mouth is movable etc) but they look exactly the same in the slicer. Thanks for the kind words! I use BambuLab printers for my multicolor printing. All of their printers are great and are capable of multicolor printing when paired with their AMS unit. I have the X1C and A1-Mini models and they are excellent. They are a very popular brand and I would say are likely what the majority of people use for multicolor printing these days.

Hi Matt, my kids and I saw some of your models at an expo a few months ago, and that ended up inspiring me to jump feet first into 3D printing! I've printed so many random things in the past several weeks, even designed a few of my own simple tinkers, and am finally coming full circle to print one of your models! I'm sure others have asked but I didn't see, I was wondering what printer(s) you like for multi-color prints. I have a very basic Ender printer and am looking to upgrade and dive into the world of multi-color printing. Also, do you happen to have a rough guide to settings like infill %, etc. that tend to work well for your models? Thanks for your time and for sharing such amazing work with the community!

Camden, try turning the model’s direction. Orienting to to print diagonal across your print bed may work for you, it does for me.

I print mine at 80% usually and have had no issues. 3 wall, 15% gyroid infill. When you say fall apart, do you mean the joints break or the layers split apart?

try changing your wall count on your print settings and infill, I print most of these at 75% the size and they are strong enough to be dropped on the ground and not break my 6 year old plays with them too no issues i print with 4 walls and 10% infill normally

The mini’s are my favourite!!! Unfortunately, some of the large ones (axolotyl, lizard) are too big for my mat on the AnkerMake. If it try to shrink them even a tiny bit they fall apart. Any suggestions for this? For now, I’m just printing all the minis and I love them!!

Which file are you referring to? All of the designs that include 3mf files also include stl files. Or do you mean multicolor stl files? Stl files do not store color data.

the tiger stl is not very stable.. could only do one at a time. pretty and cute but it wastes more filament than it uses to make the print.

I tried it 2 different ways. I had 2 models in cart and it applied to python but not the opossum, so I bought the python and tried again with just the opossum and it still didn't work. I also copy and pasted the code, to make sure I had the correct spelling, etc. I switched to MMF and was able to buy it there.

I do thoroughly break down what is included free in the tier descriptions before you sign up. It states how many files I release per month, and that you get the current month's releases and the last month's releases (which are listed out). It also states that past public and past exclusive releases have to be purchased and explains the discount pricing for them. I'm honestly not sure what else I can do. The information is all there, and I try to write it out as clearly as I can.

I hate asking another question, My ferret brain cannot figure out how to get the head and body to attach. the head has a square section and the body has two curves. is it meant for a rubber band or something like the body supports?

Honestly a bit disappointed to have forked over a 10$ sub to find out I only have access to 2 models, the ferret and the bat, and that all past models have been archived. You should really make that more obvious for new patreon signups. Had I known I wouldve just went over to cults and spent less than the 10$ sub to pick up the 2 models I actually wanted, but cannot get now without spending more money.

Settings will vary quite a bit depending on printer. The basics I use are typically 0.16mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle, 3 walls (printing inside to outside), and 10% infill (gyroid). The rest is mostly specific tuning for the machine and filaments.

It should work if you select the folder, click the download button or the three dot menu > download. It will take some time, though, as at Zips then downloads the folder. At least, that's how it works when I test it.

It usually goes in easier with the head in the "looking up" position. If that doesn't do the trick you might try heating the clip up a little bit to soften them, pinch them a tiny bit closer, let it cool and try again. That or sand/file/cut a tiny bit of material off of the clip edges.

There was a lot of interest in smaller/faster printing snake models, so primarily they are designed to be smaller than the full sized Rattlesnake can be scale down to. For these, the main part of the head prints-in-place. The upper head still needs to be snapped on. There are some subtle updates to the face sculpt to give it more appealing proportions for that scale.

The only pre-painted file I've made currently is the Tiger. You can paint the bottom of the presupported version by right clicking on the body and separating to parts (not objects). Note the xyz positional coordinates of the presupport. Move the presupport out of the way. Paint the tail, then move presupport back to the previously noted coordinates.

I just printed a Slimer from Ghostbusters model (different Patreon) that measures almost 3 feet long and 30 inches wide. I used lightning infill and 4 walls and the whole thing is almost hollow and is very lightweight. You should be able to do that and have no worries with it falling off the wall. I'm going to hang this guy with a cleat so I'll glue (E6000) my slanted piece of wood on the back and then mount the other piece of wood on the wall and then I just have to sit it on the cleat and won't have to worry about pulling pressure on just one or two spots on the back of it. The cleat will be 24 inches and glued all the way across to disperse the weight. lol, I know that was a lot to say but hopefully gives you an idea of how to do yours.

I have a question for you about the magnets. I have a customer that wants the bat magnet as large as possible which would be about 425% to mount on her wall (not with magnets, lol). Since it's large I wanted to make it as light as possible. Do you know if I can scale up the magnet head that large and use the setting that you have for magnets?

For v02beta I made a fix to the head contact points so that it was more secure during printing. v01R is the technically the same as v02beta. I renamed it to v01R because it’s not beta anymore. The R stands for Release (publicly released).

Cura? Adjust your Cura settings to include Support Roof. From there do some fiddling. You can greatly improve support structures against the print.

Hi Mat, as a tip/request for the magnets - is it possible to insert the magnet? (So print x amount of bottom layers, pause at final layer before magnet cutout is closed - so you can insert the magnet, continue printing -> et voila, the magnet is nicely include inside the model).

You can do this in the slicer. Right click on the mesh and... in Cura: Mesh tools > Split object into parts in PrusaSlicer: Split > into Objects (or Parts) then reselect the support part and delete it.

When overhangs look rough, it's typically due to curling. You can try and reduce curling by reducing the extruder temperature and/or bed temperature, increasing cooling, try and decrease the ambient temperature if printing in an enclosure. OH! make sure the wall printing ordering is set to "inside to outside". If that is set wrong, curling might not directly be the issue. I believe Cura defaults to "outside to inside" which is terrible for overhangs. I would be curious to see what your prints look like, if you want to send me pics. matmire.makes@gmail.com

Does it say "copy link" when you click it in the Patreon post or on Google Drive? Clicking the link in the post should open the file page in Google Drive. Then there is a white icon of a down arrow in the upper right corner. If it's not behaving that way, you may want to try a different browser. If you are trying it on mobile, give it a shot on a computer. Hope that helps.

Yeah, the Bearded Dragon is no longer a free download this Month, but since you were a Patron last month you still get it free from the MMF share. If you go to your Library on MMF, there is a category called "Objects Shared with Me". Your files are in there. Unfortunately, MMF still shows the price on those file thumbnails, which is confusing. Don't worry, they are free to download. If you hover your mouse over the thumbnail, you should see a download button. Also, if you view the listing, there would be a "Download" button instead of an "add to cart" button.
