Japan Photo Diary: Minoh Falls, Osaka

Today I am in Osaka, visiting family. This morning I did a short morning hike through the beautiful Minoh Falls.
I came here earlier in the summer. You’ll see the waterfall is much smaller now in fall. I think it’s because the ice from the mountains did most of its melting already. The first photo is the waterfall this morning, and the second and third are photos I took when I came to see the waterfall in early July.
I love this area because of its “tame but still wild” charm. There are wild monkeys (can you spot the second monkey on the bridge?), endless shades of vibrant green in all shapes and forms, and little shops and temples that line the path. It has a mystical feel.
Unfortunately, October has been quite a warm month so the leaves have still not yet changed to their fall colors. I am sure this place will be beautiful in about a month’s time.🍁
