But it must be her, so Tulsi is either a pen name or possibly the choosen family name of Roomie and Lillian (might even be Roomies parents name, but the simliarity to Tallis makes me think it more probable that it's choosen).

Of course, when we first met --ohhh, forget her name, Soot's previous owner, who just now cared for Pia--I thought in my wisdom 'gee, that looks like an older version of 'what's her name from 'Roomie'. Thanks to your cite I see: glasses and a tiny little part in the front center of her bangs. (An indication that Clover has a better memory for these things than I do!).

I understand that she's meant to sound amazed and incredulous, like what the book seller just said is a huge understatement, or a silly question. However, I don't think it really makes sense for her to say 'If I'm a fan...?' in response to the question 'Are you a fan?'. I think what she should be saying is 'Am I a fan...?', possibly with the words being bold or in italics, to show emphasis and to indicate that she's asking a rhetorical question.
