It has gotten too dark

So, there is kind of a problem I'm having with the game right now: The monster girl world was always supposed to be a cheerful and happy place, balanced out by a serious side, as well. Overall, a world where you wouldn't think twice about going there, but it has turned into something where most people would go 'uuuuuh, yeaaaah, maybe noooot...'

There is too much trauma, psychology, gore, torture, and violence.

That's why I'm strongly considering a rewrite. Now, I know no supporter ever wants to hear those words so let me get more precise: I'm talking about tuning down scenes focused on the aspects mentioned above or removing them altogether. What I aimed to achieve with this game was to primarily entertain, showcase unique and weird sexual encounters, and prompt the player to think a little. Nobody needs to read about PTSD, traumas, etc. for this, it's not a psychological case study. At the same time, I don't want it to be a My Little Pony rainbow uwu wonderland. Basically, it's like in the movies: You still got death etc. in action flicks, but we take those no problem because the focus lies elsewhere, the psychology behind it/the mental damage from it is rarely explored because that's not the point. Other movies do just that, they provide glimpses into the human mind. This porn game was never supposed to do that though, and yet we've ended up with me researching the stages of personality loss over recurring schizophrenic episodes. That's NOT what my game is! I wanted the opposite, for it to be weird/sexual/funny escapism, mixed with a bit of cynicism and satire.

So yeah, my idea would be to heavily tone everything down so we don't need a freaking trigger warning for this game! Basically, we would draw the line much earlier when it comes to serious stuff. Death et cetera is still fine, but man, no more depressing/disturbing mental stuff and torture... I would also make it so that your save files would still work, no need to replay everything again (although, maybe it would be a good idea). I also would do this before releasing the current version to the public, so congrats BETA players, you'd be the only ones knowing how messed up Hell originally was lol.

Also, another great thing that would happen: CILI WOULD SURVIVE! :D

Anyways, I'll think about it for a couple of days more before deciding. I'd also love to hear your takes so feel free to comment.
