Didn’t like this guest, he seemed just as scummy as the people he claims to oppose and uses basically the same tactics as them within the same ecosystem. Also I was really put off by his pro-cop anti bail reform rant which was full of details being pushed by right wingers in order to increase the number of people in jail, mostly nonviolent, with the false pretense of increasing violent people in jail. I wish the hosts had pushed back on that sentiment, though the guest framed it in a dishonest way which elided many of the things that were wrong with it.

2025-05-12 19:48:27 +0000 UTCMy ex tried sending me World of T-shirts shit and I had to literally tell her to fucking stop because it was vile and exploitative and I wasn't gonna watch it. Shit like this just fills me with despair.

2025-05-11 18:03:32 +0000 UTCI was with this guest up until he started talking about how he was just live streaming interviews with witnesses in this poor woman's death. I'm sorry that really makes me question his motives, aside from being pretty likely to influence the information he gets it just seems incredibly vapid. All true crime stuff commodifies tragedy to a degree, but when he's talking about how this guy is exploiting people for online attention it seems incredibly hypocritical that he's being so flagrant and short-sighted in how he's going about examining what seems to be a pimp sexually exploiting women by hooking them on drugs until he eventually got one of them killed

2025-05-11 14:27:01 +0000 UTC1.) It's not on people doing journalism to submit their findings to the police, especially when the information is mostly public or found via public channels, before releasing the product of the work. 2.) Lolcowing someone is provoking them to act in ways for the general amusement of the public at the detriment of their own image and mental state. Are you trying to say it's unethical to make fun of people who have committed crimes?

2025-05-11 11:39:25 +0000 UTChey, what the fuck is wrong with Alex Novell that makes him go on stream before presenting the evidence directly to the police? he seems to be infected by the same streaming brainworms as the guy he's (rightfully) dunking on except justifying it with post-hoc "well i'm only lolcowing people who actually deserve to be in prison"
