Hey everyone, Coury here.
As you've probably noticed, its been a little while since the last video. Just about a month now and believe us, we feel terrible about it. Doubly worse because its not like we've been sitting around doing nothing, either.
I've spent a significant amount of time the last few weeks wrapping up the project we shot in Japan. The edit is done, and I'm really proud of it. We've put together a Blu-Ray that will be included with an upcoming release. Although we're still not allowed to say what it is, when it's announced you can expect a trailer from us, and we'll be able to talk freely about it.
It will release on the channel, but not til after the the orders for the physical version have started to go out - I'm really hoping for early May at the latest.
Try has been focused 100% on what we are calling the "Modder Doc" which we showed some snippets of in our upcoming doc preview video last year. Its a ton of material and will end up being a pretty significant piece that I think the people that follow our show will love. While he has been busy with that, I somewhat foolishly launched into a video focusing on the original Phantasy Star series that is close in style to the Dracula X/Castlevania episode Try did last year.
As you know, I'm pretty passionate about that series of games, so naturally the video expanded to be a bit more than what I intended going in. That was all fine and good - I had anticipated finishing either this week or throughout the weekend...
We just learned that the embargo for videos on the Mega Sg will be much sooner than expected, and since we'd like to release our Mega Sg episode when everyone else does, it's going to require a concentrated effort on both our parts to make a video that will meet both yours and our expectations on day 1.
So, we've decided to drop the big videos we are working on so we devote most of our attention to that.
While we wait for the review units, I've decided I'm gonna try to get an update video on the Super SD System 3 done - hopefully only taking me a couple of days to put together.
After its release, a number of mods have been developed by members of the community which fix the issues people were having with the sound and the video. In addition to this, there has been firmware updates that tie it all together. To cap it off, a new revision of the SSDS3 has been released which incorporates the developed mods. So I thought all of this new information warranted an update video for those that might have been waiting to pull the trigger on it.
That won't be a long video at all. At least not long enough to make the long gap between episodes seem justified, but we really have no choice at this point.
In a showing of good faith, I'm uploading a 22 minute preview of the Phantasy Star episode for you to check out. If you'd rather wait to be surprised, you can skip it. Its still a bit rough around the edges and doesn't have any on camera bits shot yet.
So there you have it. I'm sorry about the current situation that we're in but please know that there is some really good stuff coming after this long drought and we feel that we will be extremely consistent from that point on.
