Blog #1 - Sega on the Xbox
Added 2015-07-27 23:47:56 +0000 UTCHey everyone, Coury here. I never really thought about doing a blog here, but I suppose it could be a lot of fun. I'll give some updates an upcoming episode. I'll have a new episode for this Friday where I'll be talking about Sega on the Xbox. I was originally going to follow the same format as the Namco on the Genesis, where I talk about four games. But I got an idea where I could get a guest to talk about one of the four games I was going to cover, and it would be a fun way to work in collaborations. So this is my first attempt at it. Since its Sega on the Xbox, the four games I was going to cover were Panzer Dragoon Orta, OutRun 2, Gun Valkyrie and Otogi. I originally approached Johnny Millenium aka The Happy Console Gamer to talk about one of the games, but he didn't have a ton of experience with any of the games I wanted to cover. So I proposed Shenmue 2, which he was, obviously, very much into. He got me a segment, but I felt like it needed a bit more elaboration - so I went to the other big fan of the game that I knew, Joe Redifer from Game Sack. He agreed to talk about it as well, so there ya go - both will be covering Shenmue 2 in this episode. And once I had both lined up to appear, I decided to just go all out in episode and cover 5 games. Then, I decided that Panzer Dragoon Orta being my favorite game on the system, deserved its own episode, I expanded on the game selection. So currently the layout of the episode is 1. Jet Set Radio Future 2. Crazy Taxi 3 3. Shenmue 2 4. Gun Valkyrie 5 Out Run 2 Now a good deal of the way into the edit, so if things work out, I'll be adding Otogi 1 and 2 to the list - which would bring the runtime of the episode well over 20 mins. Its at roughly 18 minutes currently, which is a good deal longer than our usual episodes as it is. But the Nintendo Power episode proved to be successful, so we're definitely going to try longer episodes if its justified. Also, if you're curious, RGB203 - Genesis/SegaCD/32X is coming, but Try is on vacation and travelling til August 4th. We wanted to get it out earlier, but with Too Many Games and other outside factors, it didn't get written when we wanted. We'll begin work on it right away for a mid August release. See ya Friday!
