Little Mid-Month Check-In

It's almost 5 a.m. on the 15th and I wanted to write some stuff before going to sleep! I've been working out a design for a new character but it's been taking ages. I remember when I used to bang out new characters once a week back in high school/early college, but I think it was easier because I didn't expect as much from myself and had fewer tools at my disposal.
Despite that I'm still hating how long this is taking. I committed to at least do full colors and some rendering but ughh.. I keep backtracking and redoing things. I think it might be better to try and step away and work on something else, but then it'll take even longer to get a new piece out. It always sucks when I stall out before reaching the breakthrough point where everything just comes together.
Ok it's actually 5 a.m. now and I should probably cut myself off. I think what it needs to come down to is me being less demanding of myself and accepting that sometimes I just can't do everything I want to do with a piece, because if I push myself too much I'll burn out. We'll see what happens!
