Combat School! (aka Boot Camp)

FIND FILES ATTACHED -MISTER, MIST, SIDI-

(español abajo)

I'm sorry for being one week late. This was meant to be a special release for the 4th of July but last week was very busy and couldn't finish it. So here it is anyway, happy 4th of July (!)

This is Konami doing another sports game. And it's a really fun one. I originally only met it in the Amstrad CPC. It was a very well done port, fast, good music, impressive graphics... So when I was able to grab the ROMs, I made an emulator for it. That was my last emulator work. I mentored Manuel Abadia while doing it. He then became a great contributor to MAME and we owe him the work of hacking the encrypted Konami CPU.

This game uses a new ADPCM chip, the NEC uDP7759. I had to make a core for it. It is now available for all developers here.

This is the second title in the Konami 007121 series. It is clear now that the knowledge of this chip is not good enough. Emulation is done at the moment via ad-hoc hacks for each game. And not even the hacks work ok. So we need a proper reverse engineering work on it. Pastblaster has offered a donor board for the chip (thanks!). I have asked Furrtek to take it. He's done some work on Konami before and he is really good at analyzing gate arrays like this one.

Please, remember that Konami 007121 games (Contra and Combat School) are still in beta phase. Please do not distribute.

And from today, I am officially working on Q-Sound.

No, I'm waiting for Furrtek's results to fix some GFX issues. He told me this week he's close to finishing. Maybe I should release it as it is for now.

This never went public or did it? I have it obviously but I was wondering

Sin Red Zone

Just unzip it in the _Arcade folder. Add the MAME file to whatever mame folder that you already have full of zip files.

Where should I put the folder with the core and the gane? Do I need the mame file as well? Can somebody help how to install the game please?
