Arcade PCBs from Japan

The outcome from the poll about which board to buy was to get Double Dragon. However, Andrew Moore,  one of my earliest patrons, offered to loan me his Double Dragon PCB. We are still looking at the best way to send it at the minimum cost from USA to Spain but we can count on his board for this. Thanks Andrew!

I am running out of CAPCOM pre-CPS games with schematics available so I needed to get some PCBs for undocumented systems. I bought these three boards:

1. Gun Smoke, probably very similar to Commando

2. Vulgus, this was a request from director patron Frederic, I am happy I could find this game. It is probably very similar to 1942

3. F1 Dream, this game shares MAME driver with Tiger Road -for which I have a bootleg- and has two CAPCOM custom chips. This board was 1/3 of the price of others one, including a Tiger Road one.

I will not make any special pledge for this. I can cover the costs with the regular patron fees once I complete each core. I do not plan to draw detailed schematics as by now I know where to look for differences between games and I don't need detailed schematics. If there is a special interest for drawing full schematics please let me know. Maybe I can get some help to get them done.

That’s a game I love myself. I’m not sure about the hardware it runs on, though. I don’t think it’s a CAPCOM board

This is fantastic work! I would love to see Pang/Buster bro come as the next Pre-CPS game. I think it has a similar board but makes use of Kabuki processor. The Kabuki processor can be replaced with a Z80 and 2 decrypted ROMs.

Some fun engineering projects ahead 😁 Where did you buy them from? I'll be visiting Japan later in the year.
