Behind The Scenes: So What's Going On?
Added 2019-01-17 02:46:05 +0000 UTCEasy to notice that my posting habits haven't been good the past 2 weeks. It's a myriad of different things mostly personal and some due to the burden of the holidays. However, that's all besides why you're supporting me, sooooo just know that I'm trying to improve my production. Part of which was to have a post schedule up for this month for you to see, the basics of it was every friday a comic post with short stories and image sets throughout the week.
There is good news however!
This month, I bit the bullet and upgraded the machine I render on. This was mostly spurred by the group image I wanted to do for new years that got shit-canned because my machine would slow to a slog. I've been working with 16gbs of ram for years now, any time a scene requires more than 16gbs of ram it would be put in virtual ram (paging memory). This kills.
So during the first week of this month, I upgraded my ram to 32gb. Installed it and opened the group scene. And....

The group scene takes about 10 minutes to load and tops my system over 16 gbs of ram. So, the upgrade worked awesomely! Now time for a test render...

Fuck.
This prompted reading in compressing and optimization techniques. While, I've now really given up on this group image, it did create an issue for me to learn more about for future renders.
The other positive side is that you may notice that pin-ups will now be at higher resolutions.
