Embrace Of The Abyss— 8

In this world full of mortals, Xia Feng found it amusing.

Since the Nine Yin Body was sealed here the fate of this world was destined to be tragic and the cause of this tragedy was going to be none other than Xia Feng.

Fate was mysterious yet controllable.

From a silly little ant to his current position, a sense of peace enveloped Xia Feng.

It was incredibly refreshing.

But in the end... This was not like him.

So many emotions, so many feelings.

This was all the result of his current shattered soul.

The price he had to pay was frightening but the rewards were proportional.

Finding the Nine Yin Physique was enough.

...

Buying a blank white mask from a nearby shop he wasted no time and headed for the residence of the Tang Family.

He did not care what they were or how much power they had, nothing in this world was capable of harming him.

Of course besides the so-called Nuclear Weapons but after reviewing the memories from the original Xia Feng he knew there was zero probability of it being used against him.

All that mattered was that the Tang Family had the Thousand-Year-Old Jade.

Putting on the White Mask Xia Feng's figure disappeared. Arriving in the midst of the cloudy skies he surveyed the surroundings before flying off.

Before reaching the Golden Core Realm it was impossible to fly independently. At most, Foundation Building cultivators could use objects to support their flight.

The most popular one was the sword.

A lot of young cultivators fancied it for some reason.

What mattered to Xia Feng was the soul.

A fleshy body like this, whether it was cultivated or not didn't matter.

This world...

It existed purely to nourish the Nine Yin Physique.

The cold winds brushed against his expressionless face as he arrived at his destination.

He activated the Blind Domain and descended upon the beautiful-looking mansion. There were several security guards armed with batons.

Xia Feng walked past them, tracing the location of the Thousand Year Old Jade through its residual energy.

...

In a well-decorated room, an old man was lying on the bed with a pale expression. His face was contorted in pain as his eyebrows scrunched up and down every now and then.

"Can Grandpa really be cured?" A honey-like voice echoed with concern.

Her eyes were pools of innocence framed by delicate, sweeping brows. Adorable face and jade-like skin, her figure was full of alluring curves.

Ye Bei looked at the beauty with a calm smile, hiding his restless heart. Ever since the moment he got his hands on the Pure Yang Jade his heart was full of unease.

He was but an ordinary village boy half a year ago.

When he was tending to his father's farm one day he fell unconscious and woke up to possessing some kind of 'Urban Survival System'.

After various troubles, he had made a name for himself as a Grandmaster in Martial Arts. From a small village boy to an Honourable Guest of such prestigious families.

The Tang Family was deeply involved with the Government. It's said that the Old Master of the Tang Family was a Retired War Veteran.

But hearing that he was ill, Ye Bei decided to help him considering his respect for someone who fought for the country.

With the means to help him, how could he simply ignore it? So after claiming he could heal the Old Master, he was quickly brought to the Manor.

After inspecting the Old Man Ye Bei felt a chill go down his spine.

[Tang Jian: An old man with barely a decade of lifespan left. There's a Poisonous Gu worm lurking in the body of the old man. It's slowly corroding the spirit and if not treated within a week's time death was a surety.]

[Solution: Use the Pure Yang Jade to eliminate the Gu worms before using the Golden Elixir Acupuncture Technique to drive the remaining poison out.]

Is there someone in the world using such poisonous Gu worms?

To deal with it the Pure Yang Jade was necessary. It's centuries of acclamation could effectively destroy the

"You're underestimating me, Miss Tang." He forced a smile, putting down his unease.

This was the function of his Urban Survival System. Anything he glanced at, he could retrieve all of the data or information regarding it. If there was a problem or defect with the analysis target it would also propose a solution to said problem.

But the solutions weren't as simple as it seemed. Some were usually impossible and depending on the difficulty of the task completed he could also gain rewards.

As his strength increased due to the rewards the system prompt started to become rarer. It seemed like only special cases like the one with the Old Master of the Tang Family could make the system prompt appear.

So while Ye Bei wanted to heal the old man out of respect there was also a selfish desire behind it.

He was already at the peak of the Mortal World.

Besides a few fossils who could compare to him in the Grandmaster Realm?

And once he received the reward for this mission he was sure to even surpass them!

Who in the world could match him then!?

Once he found the path after the Grandmaster Stage he could become impervious to all firearms!

Not to mention there was a Main Mission in the System Panel that he was mystified by.

[Main Task: Find the source of Chaos. Eliminate the origin of Qi and return the world to its root.]

[Mission Reward: Entry To High-Level Cultivation World!]

If his guess was correct then this high-level cultivation world was none other than the world of Xianxia.

Ye Bei felt the uneasiness in his heart and the faint excitement mix.

"Could you give me the Pure Yang Jade?" He asked and Tang Xianrou hurriedly nodded.

"Go and get what Sir asks for." She ordered a nearby servant.

"I don't trust him." A young voice full of disdain echoed and Tang Xianrou's expression flushed in embarrassment.

"Yan'er shut up!" She hissed, "Don't be disrespectful to Sir."

"What Sir? Isn't he our age? The Taoist Monk from afar failed, the top medical experts from foreign countries failed. Aren't you being delusional right now?"

The young man Tang Yan was her younger brother. Arrogant and proud from birth he disdained Tang Xianrou's humble behaviour.

"You... He's a Grand—!"

"It's fine." Ye Bei spoke up, "I understand your concern Tang Yan and if I were in your place I would also have the same reaction."

Hearing this Tang Yan's expression changed and a curious look appeared in his eyes, "Hmm?"

"You've already lost all hope so there should be no harm in letting me try. If I claim to be able to heal him then shouldn't there be some substance in my words? Would I dare to cheat the Tang Family?"

His words soothed Tang Yan's pride and made him ponder. Indeed his words were impulsive, it wasn't like he wasn't being delusional.

Perhaps in his heart, he also wished for Tang Xianrou's delusions to come true. It wasn't like he was against her or wanted her to fail. There was no sort of inheritance war. He already had everything he wanted in life, why fight for more?

Grandpa Tang was the closest to him, even closer than his parents.

He couldn't bear seeing him like this any longer.

He nodded and turned silent.

Only time could tell whether Ye Bei could heal his grandfather or not.
