Happy Friday, everyone!
Bit of a random post, but I thought I'd share some of the images I cooked up this week after a bit of experimenting. Now, I know many of you are aware that I only started dabbling in this insanity less than a year ago, so it's safe to say I'm still very much in the "stumbling through the dark" phase. Every week, I somehow manage to trip over a new trick or two that makes a difference—kind of like finding the light switch in a room full of LEGO bricks.
The software I use is basically a black box to me. Sometimes I push a button and hope for the best. The catch? Some of these little revelations come with a price: they turn what was a quick 5-minute render into a 20-25 minute slog. And if you’re on a mid-range graphics card, you might as well settle in for an hour, or maybe read War and Peace while you wait. Oh and these are all rendered at close to 4k resolution, which my power bill certainly appreciates.
Take the "before and after" of Lucy in the maid costume, for example. With some tweaks—mainly lighting, cranking up the resolution of the character models and adding pores (yes, pores!)—you get a massive jump in detail. You can actually zoom in and see them, which is probably more attention to skincare than I give myself.
So, what do you think? Do you enjoy seeing the fruits of my mad science, or would you rather I stash them away on a hard drive where no one (and I do mean no one, since you lot are the only ones who even know I do this shit) will ever find them?
Have an awesome end to the week, and may your renders be quick and your graphics cards strong!
P.S. There’s more where that came from—Japanese Lucy being outrageously lewd. But I need to know you’re alive out there. Don’t leave me hanging in this digital void. Hello? Is this thing on?!
