The Show that Goes Wrong is great. There is a much earlier set of plays by David McGillivray centred around The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society. It exactly the same premise, a group of amateur actors, putting on a play and everything falling apart. I directed The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society's Production of Macbeth and it's not easy to make things look so bad, convincingly. Dark Place pulls off the shoddy production values so we'll and it it is so well observed.
