ok so basically the more skin it takes up, the more magic you can shove into it. It doesn't have to be bang on but the closer it looks to the thing it represents, the better it works. yes, its a VERY specialised profession that can only be done by strong enchanters so its not really the ink, its more the process of being stabbed repeatedly by a powerful magic user

GOOD QUESTION i would imagine certain tattoos to be mandatory for specialised units (most wouldnt waste the resources on general infantry), motion tattoos are quite costly and labor intensive for the artist, so larger militarys would probably have to employ a large team of them to sort of pipeline it?

do the tattoos have to be representative of what they allow the user to do? like if u want claws do you need to have claw tats on your hands or would you need a claw symbol in your palm or smth? also is the magic in the ink, the actual art itself or is it imbued throughout the process? can any tattoo artists do magic tats or is it something only a select few can do? yes thats A Lot of questions in one go But im curious. also if youd rather talk on discord im down

sure! as long as it has few enough daily uses to not completely destroy its user (will make some end notes about tattoo overuse and limitations)
