I think there are just too many people who are afraid of spiders. If they can make the perfect movie to gain fans, then maybe, but that would be a separate challenge...

I think I want to go for my birthday in January instead. It really helps to live a few hours away and have an uncle who lives less than 15 minutes away.

Watching someone talk about a passion of theirs can be really fun. I'm on tenterhooks wondering if there will ever be a part 5 to the Evermore saga; I suppose it depends on if there are enough new developments to justify it.

2025-07-09 19:13:13 +0000 UTCmy personal theory on the reason they haven't done pokemon yet is just because since pokemon fans are insane (I'm pokemon fans) and also since it's so beloved you would end up disappointing a lot of people no matter what you did, since people would be really excited for like, a 1:1 recreation of the world with wild pokemon encounters included and battles like the anime and all that, and obviously you can't Do that. and tempering expectations is hard because again the anime has given us glimpses of what living in the pokemon world would actually look like. you could definitely make kids and general audiences really happy but planning out something for the Fan fans is probably really stressful

It's really interesting that Universal don't seem to be capitalising on their back catalogue effectively when there's so much generational affection for some of those old films/series, and it's a strategy that seems to have worked so well for Disney. Even just at the level of stocking merch! P.S. I got "Epic Universe" and "Dark Universe" confused before watching and was thinking "how on earth would they make a theme park of that?", felt pretty foolish when I realised my mistake, only to now discover that... they are?? Fascinated to see how that shakes out.
