Edit: I submitted a dispute, which according to youtube policy means it'll be unblocked within 48 hours. But based on the Vampire Diaries video there's no timeline and also my Creator page won't show me when it is unblocked because the creator page has a bug which youtube is aware of but still hasn't fixed. So the info about which videos are blocked is inaccurate.
My original plan was to dispute the claim, then trim out the section in question and just post the botched version of the video until the claim cleared. But it turns out when you submit a counterclaim youtube locks the ability to trim, and I can't upload a duplicate or even similar video without youtube rejecting the upload. So it's just waiting unfortunately

I hope this level of effort continues for other rambles because it definitely feels like a main channel video which i love.

2023-09-15 19:13:33 +0000 UTCI had read the Percy Jackson books a lot as a kid and absolutely hated the first movie (I never even bothered to watch the second). It is nice to hear from someone who didn't read the books and thought the movies were terrible (good to know its not just my bias from loving the books). The movies really got so divorced from the source material it barely felt like it was the same story, like all they did was read the dust jacket. The author of the books had even come out and said they had refused to take his advice on their movie script, which explains a lot.

2023-09-14 01:39:27 +0000 UTCthe funniest/most frustrating thing about this video is that all the parts of the movies you dont like are the parts that diverge from the book lmfao. most of the time youre suggestions actually are part of the books like clarisse going on the second quest, grover having his own storyline, the roadtrip portion is less pointless and the pearls dont exist, the camp is better and more diverse/less jock centric, luke being dynamic and likeable, etc etc etc

There was also not the weird "oh Percy I totally wanted to be there for you yeahhh" moment from his dad that you noticed lol. Percy in the books pointedly has moments of resenting him for never being around.
