Infinity War Hot Take

Comments

This was the first video I clicked, before any of the Star Wars stuff even. Guess it stood out among Youtube's suggestions. A couple days down the rabbit hole and here I am. I'm a believer, man!

I'm at least half as cool as Jenny, and I don't think you could handle me. I'm pretty high-maintenance and sassy as hell.

Greg McDaniel

This is sure to get you that coffee date that'll lead to nuptials!

This is the kind of creepy comment that female content creators hate.

Rebecca

All of this is very interesting, but has Randy Moore put in his $7 yet?

Carl M

Hey Jenny, I am brand new patron, since I stumbled accords this page. I have been watching your videos for over a year now and I have to say that you are perfect. You are my favorite woman and I would be lucky to marry anyone half as cool as you.

Christopher Reedman

The snap took people along with what they were wearing, hence why there wasn't a pile of clothes in the driver's seat of that car that crashed in front of Fury and Hill. I guess the arm counts as something worn more than something used, so it went but the guns stayed.

Shaun Cheah

I know modern Marvel and Disney have to tone down a lot of Dr. Strange's psychedelic roots. But I think they did just fine with what they were able to use.

Blue Corn

I thought the same thing on my second viewing. The “rules” of the disappearances seemed all over the place. I was too busy sobbing on my first viewing to catch it. I’m certainly glad I wasn’t in a theater with Jenny since she would apparently laugh at me 😀

My really niche observation is why did Bucky's new arm disappear when his gun didn't

Joe Robinson

I lost it at that point too :D

I didn't expect to like this movie as I don't identify as a superhero fan. I really enjoyed it, though! This was my first time seeing the new Spiderman which was cool, he's adorable. I also definitely gasped at the cape rip, because I love that damn cape! >:( I guess people generally think Doctor Strange is stupid but he's probably my favorite. His powers are so neat to me. I think Guardians of the Galaxy stick out in a bad way. When paired with people like The Avengers they just look like assholes that don't belong in the same storyline. I liked them better in their own movie. I was worried about so many wiseguys being in the same environment (even The Avengers alone seemed a bit too quippy to me) but I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too grating. The banter was well-placed.

Stan Lee uncannily showing up as different people in each Marvel movie is pretty Twilight Zone-ish, when you think about it.

Blue Corn

This video made me realize that what we really need is a Twilight Zone cinematic universe.

The BabaDuck

OMG! I didn't even realize that! What he did to Drax & Mantis was totally like the Jack in the Box thing. "Its real good what you did to half the universe, Thanos. Real, real good"

Oh, and you really should consider moving "your name in the credits" to a higher tier.

Brandon Blackmoor

I loved Infinity War. I was waiting for Thanos to turn some people in to a jack-in-box like that boy in the Twilight Zone episode. So I loved it when he turned Drax and Mantis into spaghetti.

Blue Corn

"That's weird, right? Sometimes people are just ... dolls." You crack me up.

Brandon Blackmoor

He's dead Jim.

Blue Corn

"Willoughby... this stop is Willoughby..."

Brandon Blackmoor

I need to know what Skippy was drinking!

AndyofCT

Love the comparisons to Twilight Zone. Thanos is totally the “Its a good life” boy wishing the MCU into the cornfield. Where the hot take misses the mark is that Black Widow is still around and as we know...NOBODY buys the girl toys. Don’t forget it was the Rey action figures that single handedly shut Toys R Us down.

I just want more redemption, but clearly I’m being too greedy. I can concede to all of these valid examples. (but I won’t)

James Murphy

Did he not also also redeem himself by coming back with Korg and crew to rescue all the Asgardian refugees?

Shaun Cheah

Doesn’t he also redeem himself, then die in The Dark World?

The BabaDuck

Hopefully it’s only part 1 of his redemption.

James Murphy

I loved that doll story! And I didn't get it right up until the end (which admittedly was only twenty seconds after the idea was introduced, but still). And it would have been the best Twilight Story/ Except your forgot the other, other twist which was that halfway through one of the characters was seized and then returned to the box horribly mangled and then, at the end, it's revealed the owner is a giant destructive toddler

Alex Woodcock-Clarke

I will disagree with one point you made. You said every character interaction and fight with Thanos was a foregone conclusion that Thanos would win. The team on Titan almost defeated him using teamwork, and were only upended by Star Lord being a hothead after hearing Thanos killed Gamora (as shown in Guardians 2). Spidey removed the gauntlet even, even for a brief moment. Also, when Thor buries Stormbreaker in Thanos’ chest, I thought maybe they end it this way and Thanos would be defeated, but nope... *snap* After the fact, yeah, these fights seemed like a foregone conclusion, but in the moment, I still had hope. I don’t think many expected a major downer ending like they gave us. And I think most people aren’t aware of how the business and the behind the scenes stuff works, which is why their deaths weren’t met with glee like you and me because you knew they were going to be resurrected. Some people actually believe these guys are dead. If only to be as naive as those people.

Bill Lehecka

Wasn't him trying to kill Thanos his redemption.

Blue Corn

Jenny’s obsession with the Twilight Zone and how it ties into plots is only matched by Mike Stoklasa’s need to tie in every plot to Star Trek. It’s glorious.

Bill Lehecka

Jenny Infinity Gauntleted that tea cup around 7 minutes in. It was one of my favorite characters!

Make fun if you want but I can't imagine Loki actually being dead and the entire MCU collection of movies not being his redemption arc.

James Murphy

I'd just like to take a moment to appreciate how comfortable Porg looks now that he's got his massive neckless head supported by his floppy left flipper.

Shaun Cheah

But Killmonger had a similar final scene and we were very much meant to emphasize with him, weren't we?

Shaun Cheah

I'm gonna be That Fangirl for a second (again) -- Red Skull was never Keeper of the Soul Stone or whatever, that was just an Easter Egg esp because he looks like Mistress Death, Thanos's unrequited comics love; and I really (really) don't think we're supposed to emphathize with Thanos --he's a psychopath with a plan that makes sense to his psychopath self and no one else. The last shot is him, a psychopath, being happy that his plan worked (and a callback to a comment he made earlier) but also the famous last panel from the Infinity Gauntlet comic, no more.

Wooo
