On the other hand; Rose's ring with the concealed resistance logo is complete world breaking madness: it suggests the resistance is some super secret clandestine organization rather than a large well equipped military force. They get around in a fleet of large, instantly recognizable spaceships and wear clearly identifiable uniforms but worry about a teeny tiny, insignificant, little piece of jewellery potentially identifying them to the First Order

Droids are great, but I've got a thumb drive and a smartphone that handle most of their responsibilities.

If Leia was demoting Poe for his bad judgement, why not demote him more, so that he wasn't still the ranking pilot? If they weren't going to Crait, why did they come out of hyperspace so close? If they were going to Crait, why did they come out of hyperspace so far away? Why did anyone think they could solve the problem of hyperspace tracking with a secret mission in a hyperspace vehicle? If they could do that, why not just ferry their personnel away in the transports? I could go on indefinitely.

Neither of them would know what a DJ was. But your solution neatly addresses things in IX, since Poe clearly has been to some bangers in his life.
