seems like all the patreon exclusive videos have been removed

David Arroyo

Thank you so much for your videos, Jenny! I do not share any of your fandoms (Star Wars, My Little Pony, Old theme parks, and now apparently Avatar?) but I am a big fan of you!

Megan Onuma

Watching this after TROS has come out makes me said because it is one of those "trailer films"...

SiggyStardust

So late to the game on this one but I’m now a Patreon for my favourite YouTuber so that’s fun. I’m glad my five dollars can help support great content. I didn’t really have anything else to say, only that I’ve watched all Jenny’s videos on YouTube about a million times and am thrilled that there’s videos on here that I haven’t seen yet that I can watch over and over while I do homework or get ready in the mornings.

Moira Laidlaw

Going back watching old videos, and she dropped about how the sonic the hedgehog fandom hasn't gone away, sure has as we are are week out after the first trailer for the movie dropped

It's hilarious to watch this knowing how the movies played out. I almost want to see Valerian now

Jonathan Alvizuri

I just became a patreon so I'm watching this for the first time, at almost 2019. Man I wish I'd been excited for valarian in the right way that you were. I was sitting here like a fool thinking "I like Luc Besson, the source material seems cool." But man I was so wrong.

Richard Morrall

Ha, that's so funny, The Originals is one of the shows my sister and I have been waiting to end so we can watch the last episode!

Haley Hastings

That's a great idea. My friend and I watched the first season of the Originals, which I honestly believe is the worst show I've ever seen (I said this very angrily on Facebook and then found out one of my friend's sister wrote for the Originals. He was angry with me) ANYWAY The Originals, like last week finally began its final season so I'm probably going to do the same thing for that

Jenny Nicholson

Two years later commenting on a video, but my sister and I do this thing where we'll watch the very last episode of terrible shows once they're over. It's so fun, and seems like something you'd appreciate. Secret Life of the American Teenager is a /trip,/ so funny.

Also, don't worry about the "wandering eye" thing. I think that's a fun quirk of your delivery.

Brandon Blackmoor

I would love to see a video on your thoughts of "Amazing Spider-Man" and "Thor Dark World".

Brandon Blackmoor

I just became a patreon so im really late commenting on this video, but I couldn't resist now that i saw it: 1. I love that you love tobey maguire's spider man, thats my favorite super hero movie, mostly because of something you said about guardians of the galaxy. I find it the only one that has a heart. I think all super hero movies that came after that just forgot about the fact that a hero should be human as well. 2. Thanks for explaining what was wrong about guardians of the galaxy, I never actually thought about the female characters' problem until now. 3. how come are you not excited for world war Z II, oh my god. That's in the same category as 50 shades darker, the first one was so bad and laughable, the sequel is a guaranteed good time.

Julia Sabbaga

I very much enjoyed your video and hope you keep making more of them. I think the length is perfect. I am surprised you don't see like every popular movie that comes out if for no other reason than it gives you more potential video content (plus you can probably write off the cost if you do make a video).

Neal Cooper

"Wandering eye thing" isn't really a problem. During one-on-one conversation, it's normal for the speaker to look at the listener about 40% of the time, and for the listener to look at the speaker about 60% of the time. (Yes, talking makes you look away more often from the person you're talking to.) The conversational tone is one of the fun things about these videos. I don't mean this in a weird way, but in a lot of ways it feels kind of like going out to dinner with a cute girl who tells you all of her cool and interesting theories for what's really going on with Emperor Palpatine and whatever. And you're like, "Wow, this girl is really smart! And insightful!" So anyway, I bet you're a fun person to know in real life. Thanks for doing this stuff!

Maximilian Wilson

First, I love this format! Please keep it up! And, I was wondering if you had any opinions on Blade Runner 2049?

Trevor Lalish-Menagh

Great video!!

1000thghost

"Who's taking to the streets asking for a King Kong movie?" Hilarious.

John Orquiola

Since this is apparently a topic on which people have Opinions, I'd just like to come down on the pro-cut side. You don't use them egregiously and they tend to serve both the comedy and the overall flow. So cut away! Cut until your cutters are dull and bent. And then ... get new ones I guess. I'm not sure how this works.

Thomas Nolte

I really enjoyed this video, some interesting points. Thank you.

I'll leave you on, but add him to the list on your behalf

Jenny Nicholson

I can, yes! I'll try to remember to do that in the future.

Jenny Nicholson

I don't usually follow the animated superhero films geared to an adult audience. The few I've seen felt so try-hard, like they go extra gritty to compensate for knowing they're animated. I'm excited they're making more Young Justice though, I'll have to finish season 2 now that I know it won't be a permanent cliffhanger

Jenny Nicholson

I've enjoyed these in two states I've lived in. It's what it sounds like... Theaters that (used to) charge a dollar for movies 2-6 months after they were in full price theaters. They make money on the popcorn of course. And Iceage. But Redbox is kind of killing them these days which is why they aren't (same for Redbox) truly dollar anymore.

Sean Hanley

If the "thank you card" is to appear again, how can I make it known that I would like to appear as Jimmy Scrambles? (with Ms Nicholson's permission, of course)

Space Cadet

Great video, Jenny! What's this "dollar theater" you speak of? In 2016? That's crazy talk! Also, if you haven't seen the movie Moonlight this year, I highly recommend it. I realize that it might not be your type of genre (sci-fi/pop-culture/superhero?) but it's a beautifully made movie that hopefully reaches a wider audience. Loved it.

I have one wish though, which would be awesome if it's possible. When you post new (public) videos on youtube, can you post them on Patreon as well, or just a note that they've been posted?

Anders H

I thought it would be redundant since everyone seeing these are donors already! The thank-you cards are for the proper public videos. Although I could put them on these too if people prefer

Jenny Nicholson

The 4 or 5 cuts remove about 55 additional minutes of "ummmm"s

Jenny Nicholson

The wandering eye is what makes the videos feel real and conversational rather than staged and boring

Erik Horn

Totally agree about all points on the pony/brony fandom and the upcoming theatrical release. I hope we see a positive resurgence from it! And also AGREE about Logan's trailer. And you aren't alone about GotG - I saw it two days after its release and by then everyone had Facebooked their favorite one-liners, and by the end of the movie I was so angry that nothing was surprising about it I could hardly see straight... also Gamora was horribly written, like, they used shitty craft scissors to cut her lines from the script and there were these gaping holes where her awesomeness should have been.

Whimsy & Artifice

I was a little surprised at GotG 2 being on your second list, but you made quite a valid point. The GotG comics that the movie was based on actually had more female characters on the team (including a lesbian romance), but Marvel seems to be lagging behind Disney's animated movies when it comes to progressive gender roles, which is kinda weird to contemplate. No thank-you card with the dumb fake names this time? That's fine: we certainly got our money's worth on length, and I was mostly working in other windows while I listened anyways.

Daniel Russo

I think 80 minutes is a sweet spot for video length

If you've managed to save yourself from Transformers movies so far, I think sticking to that policy would be wise. ;) Regarding patreon / rewards; I can't speak for other people, but personally I mostly do Patreon to show appreciation, not to get anything out of it. Fun, rambling videos like this one are more than enough added bonus.

Anders H

This was fun, thanks! Maybe a little on the long side but it was ok with me. Any thoughts on Justice League Dark (animated) coming out in January?
