v0.7.0 Game Status

Hey folks, it's game update time! Yes, there's a new release coming, and patch notes etc yadda yadda. But before we get to that, I do have another announcement to make. Given the expansion of the project, both in content and support, we will be adding two new patron rewards starting in August! They are:

1. Liberators ($5+) will get a monthly supplemental story taking place in the Coup universe, written by a new author! These stories will feature the otherwise nameless citizens of the Expedition, and will be downloads available to patrons outside of the game itself. I'm still talking with a few folks to determine the exact identity of the new author, so expect more details on this in the future.
2. Overseers ($10+) will get an HD art pack download at the beginning of each month, including all of the artwork currently used in the game, as well as possibly a few extras (when available). You can expect to see the first edition of the pack available in the first week of August!

As for other future developments, you can continue to expect more Vessian content for the rest of the month, hopefully wrapping that up in the next release and moving on to a Citizen focus for a bit. Art-wise, designs are ongoing for male Overseer options, and in the near future we'll be adding in the ability to select your Overseer during game start (likely with some placeholders until female designs are ready, and to set expectations, options will still be rather limited in order to not overburden artists with variants in future scenes). We also have a bit of Roboticist action in the works for you.

And, one other note, I'd like to say hi to everyone who's visited from Newgrounds! In a little over a week we've had over 10k plays, and for comparison, our itch.io edition has recently passed 7k after about four months. Glad you've gotten a chance to try it out!

This release, as you can see in the following patch notes, focused on the Vessians as well as the latest Random Encounter scene, featuring a visit to the station library. Download links will follow in the next post for patrons, enjoy!

Bug Fixes:

* Corrected issue that would prevent the Random Encounter: Schen Zero-Gee Lab scene from being playable with save files originating pre-v0.6.0, and instead added the Celopi Diner scene a second time.

Known Issues:

* Trying to exit while the Gallery is active will hide the exit option behind the gallery panel. (Windows)

* TTS dialogue cannot be interrupted once begun. May have issues if triggered on multiple screens at once. TTS support is 64-bit Windows only.

* WebGL Issues: Be warned that save game data in WebGL mode is less permanent than PC standalone. May also be more prone to memory and other issues.
