This Week's Plans, Future Plans, and the State of the Channel..(and a small download)
Added 2020-10-28 10:18:32 +0000 UTCSo for this week, I have two things planned if I can pull it off (but it might be better to delay one by a week?). One will be the full completion of my original song "House Down Under" in a "Making" video. I will upload the completed song here as usual!
The second idea is a bit weirder and more of a joke thing for Halloween. I like doing Undertale related things during this time and I always had this dumb idea to make Megalovania...out of Megalovania. Where every note is the song itself. I know how weird that sounds, but I have a plan for it.
Along with that, I do have a video idea where I make theme songs for funny OC characters. I'm looking forward to that, but in all honesty, I'm not sure when I'll do it yet. Youtube is treating the channel even worse and averages are dropping at light speed. For the first time in my entire career, growth might actually hit 0% and possibly lower. No explanation and it's getting extremely stressful and killing all motivation. So I apologize for the slow releases on here.
All I can do is hope for the best, but I am unable to get a proper explanation from anyone. No other music channel is being hit this hard. What can you do though I guess. Anyways, I have a little bonus with this post. This is the original version of the melody I created for the Minecraft video.
I'll also try to get some guitar tabs for "Always Late" available. Fun chord usage in that one.

Sounds like fun ideas! Your worries about The YouTube Algorithm (which fits the theme of Halloween, since it's a pretty frightening thing) remind me of Tama's most recent video. She has also had her fair share of YouTube struggles, so I think you'd enjoy it if you haven't seen it already: https://youtu.be/MWG8frE2kuw I don't recall if she mentioned this, but there is also the Overjustification Effect. (See e.g. https://www.verywellmind.com/what-is-the-overjustification-effect-2795386 ) It may explain why someone would feel less motivated when the YouTube numbers stagnate. Is there some other metric of success that is less dependent on the whims of The Algorithm? I wish you best of luck, Shady 🙂

As for your YouTube following, my biased opinion is that you make enjoyable music that's always a treat to hear; sharing that regardless of whatever computer overlord is trying to shove you into a meat grinder will continue to enrich humanity in ways computers can't calculate or therefore fathom.
