[#202] METAPARAPOLITICS: AN INTERVENTION, Part 3: Clifford Geertz and Raghavan Iyer

In part 3 of their Metaparapolitics intervention, Dimitri and Khalid dive into two 20th century academic suslords who both wielded the term “parapolitics” in different but equally questionable ways: anthropologist Clifford Geertz and Michael Aquino’s intellectual mentor, Raghavan Iyer.

Topics include: Geertz invoking “parapolitics” to obscure the role of Certain Invisible American hands during the 1965 Indonesian genocide, parallels with bullshit “ancient hatred” historiographies about the fall of Yugoslavia, interlocks between Geertz and Obama’s sus Ford Foundation anthropologist mother, diving into Raghavan Iyer’s “Parapolitics: Toward The City of Man”, backhanded compliments of Marx and Lenin, Iyer’s Theosophist essays about Gandhi, and his convenient reification of Ghandian “non-violent” political resistance as the ultimate virtue (contra the Bolsheviks who did a Violence and thus are bad)…

I do think Obama looks like Frank Marshall Davis, but what gives me pause is that his half brother looks almost exactly like him and he’s another son of the elder Obama from a different woman. But yeah, he strikes me as an intelligence creation from birth. I think he was intended to be point man in Kenya or Indonesia but got called up to the big leagues.

When Khaled was reading from that "Aquarian age" essay, the line "Sit down near me and let me whisper in your ear" immediately made me think of "Wait (The Whisper Song)" by early 2000's Atlanta duo The Ying Yang Twins... 🙃🤦🏼‍♀️

Unrelated to anything but I need the SJ take on Oz Perkins’ Long Legs. It’s his second film about demonic possession and super ‘noided.

It really bothers the fuck out of me that so many academics refuse to acknowledge the fact that MANY communists, orthodox marxists and national liberations don’t analyze culture or religion in good faith! like they’re some logical positivists or something. I mean what was the cultural revolution? All material revolutions are cultural revolutions as well!

Raghavan Iyer and his type are the actual definition of Cultural Marxism. Academics who use Marx as an abstract cultural commentator or critical theorist but would rather die than use Marx towards actually material class struggle.
