2022-07-18 02:14:11 +0000 UTCRegarding NPS rangers being sus, my friend’s dog was shot and killed point blank at Mammoth Caves for not being on a leash. The ranger shot the dog twice, the second time he was just a few feet away from my friend who was running to help. The rangers then took the dog and left. I met my friend an hour afterwards; her dress was all bloodied and she was traumatized. No recourse to do anything. She tried to press charges or find the rangers name, but to no avail.

It was one of the tensest and strangest experiences of my life, despite having such incredible scenery around. At the company orientation an HR rep told us “There’s no crime in Yellowstone!” such bullshit
