UGH it pains me so much knowing how much in common they have. Weapons being exploited :( Neither having the chance to live the way a teenager should. I genuinely think denji and reze given time could have been just perfect for eachother. But Makima had other plans lmao

2026-01-26 07:35:50 +0000 UTCI think that beach scene, it is very easy to come to the conclusion that "Denji doesnt learn his lesson". Because while true at facevalue, I think we are being a little harsh. Denji hasnt really had the opportunity to have emotional or mental development to analyze things the way we do. I mean, the most important thing for him is meals and a futon. It is for that reason he is taken advantage of. And know that for him these instances when someone takes advantage of him are sorta the norm for him. Remember in the begining how the loan shark exploited Denji? Then Makima and the government. Denji seeks love, comfort and care. If he gets that despite him being taken advantage of then to him thats not a dealbreaker like it would be for anyone else.

2026-01-24 15:33:21 +0000 UTCI'm pretty sure Fujimoto is legitimately insane considering the stuff he's done like pretending to be his fictional 8 year-old sister on Twitter, eating his goldfish, trying to levitate on film, and admitting to getting turned on by his crush insulting him. But at least he's not a creep, that I'm aware of, like the author of Rurouni Kenshin.

Sure, he said he'd dock her pay for being late, but compared to literally EVERY other character's morality, that's small potatoes. Then he offers to bring them coffee when REZE'S the waitress, lets her study while on the clock, and even comforts Denji when it looks like Reze stood him up. He's a pretty good background character. Also, the symbolism of the cafe Reze worked at being called "Crossroads" is not lost on me.

But because I love denji so much I was scared to watch because its so sad as a manga reader lol. I hope watching with yall will help lol. Fujimoto is an evil genius
