2025-12-04 19:11:34 +0000 UTCThis is why it sucks this version of the anime doesn’t start at the beginning of the manga. Kite is the first character we meet as the reader. He meets Gon, truly puts the idea of his father in his head, shows him the grander world, gives him the invitation to take the hunter exam, and more. He was genuinely an important figure for Gon and the anime robs the audience of that meaning by putting Kite halfway through the show instead of ep 1. So it’s very common to be like why is Gon so gun-ho about Kite when the anime doesn’t do the best job of showcasing their relationship and how much Kite meant to Gon way before Kurapika, Leorio, and Killua
