Tier 3+ - Accidental Champion - Chapter 53 - I’m Going To Tear Through This Tower Like No One Ever Has Before
Added 2023-07-14 07:26:08 +0000 UTCFor the third time, Xavier and his party stood under two suns in a field of purple grass.
This time, however, he planned to clear the floor as fast as humanly possible. Or, Denizenly possible, he supposed.
That’s why he’d thrown all 5 free stat points from his last level-up into Intelligence, further boosting the strength of his Heavy Telekinesis spell, which was already well and truly overpowered.
The second they appeared in the grass, Xavier willed the prompt to appear. After what he’d done the last time they’d come through here, he knew he wouldn’t need help from the others, whether in healing or tanking.
I can take that whole army down without breaking a sweat. All I need to do is ensure it happens fast.
And for that, he would need to use every ounce of brute force he had.
Whose call will you answer?
The humans, Xavier willed.
Just like the last two times, Xavier was transported to the front of the human army. He didn’t even spare them a glance. Activating Spiritual Trifecta, he turned and ran, sprinting as hard as he could toward the elven army as Howard and the others gave the human army one simple order: stand down.
They wouldn’t be needed.
Spiritual Trifecta lasted for 12 seconds with a 14 second cooldown, which meant 2 seconds between casting.
Once he was in range, arrows and spells came for him. He ignored them. The few that hit him didn’t do a lick of damage. Now wasn’t the time to work on his Physical and Magical Resistance skills.
Now was the time to wreak havoc.
He cast Spiritual Trifecta three times as he closed the distance, refreshing it for a fourth when he was close enough for his Heavy Telekinesis spell to be in range. Then he cast Heavy Telekinesis, targeting the elven soldiers on the left.
A chorus of cracks sounded in the air, like a dozen bundles of sticks being snapped over a dozen knees.
His cooldown had fallen to a mere one second after all the Intelligence he’d gained, but it still felt like an age. When the spell was ready again, he was even closer. A few more strides and he’d be in skull-crushing range.
Crack!
He cast Heavy Telekinesis to the right.
He ignored every notification that came his way. He would wait until the end to look at all but the kill notifications. He ignored the screams and shouts and agonised moans that rang out from the enemy soldiers ahead of him. And though he couldn’t gain any Mastery Points from these kills, he gained more than enough Spirit Energy.
Xavier, now in melee range, barrelled into the front line. He’d killed the elven soldiers on the left and the right with telekinesis so he could reach those in the middle with his staff.
He only managed to kill four in the single second that he had before his spell was ready to be used again, but that was four more than he would have taken down had he just stood there.
The fight continued like this. He took them down so fast he had to sprint toward the next soldiers in the army. The rumbling, jet-engine boom of the Cerotri Infernum three massive maws roaring in unison came when the entire elven army already lay dead on the ground.
Spiritual Trifecta didn’t wear off until the last soldier died, and he only had to wait two seconds for it to refresh.
The Cerotri Infernum reared back, ready to cast whatever spell it was preparing, or to pounce down at him. Xavier didn’t know what it would do—he’d never given it a chance to do anything.
Spiritual Trifecta refreshed and was cast once more.
Xavier leapt up.
Heavy Telekinesis!
The hell beast stumbled.
Spirit Break!
The hell beast slammed onto its back. Every limb breaking. Its three necks snapping at awkward angles. Six eyes bulging from its skulls. Strangled whines struggling from its throats.
Xavier ran across its chest until he reached one of its heads. He faced down, and for the third time, he crushed its skull into the ground with Heavy Telekinesis.
The third-floor army of five hundred soldiers had been slain, and their Champion—the level 40 floor boss—had been defeated.
Xavier leapt off the dead floor boss, stood beside it, and basked in the breeze and the bright, clear day beneath the twin alien suns, letting out a long sigh of relief as he readied himself to read all of the notifications.
He’d cleared the floor even faster than he’d expected to.
Magical Potency has reached rank 11!
Heavy Telekinesis has taken a step forward on the path!
Heavy Telekinesis is now a Rank 6 spell.
One cannot walk backward on the path.
Not as many as I thought. Though Xavier supposed he’d already gained a lot for both his Magical Potency skill and Heavy Telekinesis from the soldiers on this floor. It only made sense that their progression would eventually slow down.
He didn’t gain a single rank in Physical or Magical Resistance—he supposed he hadn’t given the enemy enough time to attack him.
How long did I take to clear this floor? Surely I would have made it to the top 100 with that time…
Xavier read on.

As he read the second title, every single muscle in his body tensedand bulged. His heart rate tripled, his breathing turning heavy. He felt like he could bench press the world. Or hold it over his shoulders like Atlas held the Earth.
He looked down at his hands, clenching his fists around his staff, saw the muscles in his forearms hard as rock, the veins like rivers running through a landscape seen from a bird’s-eye view. The muscles in his arms bulging beneath his robes. His legs. His shoulders. His torso. Every aspect of him felt damned strong, and looked it too.
I guess that title put me over 100 Strength.
After a moment, his breathing steadied, his heartrate slowed back to normal, and he moved onto the next title.
Title Unlocked!
1st Third Floor Climber: Out of Champions from five competing worlds, your party is the first to clear the Third Floor of the Tower of Champions within your instance.
You have received +15 to all stats!

Time seemed to slow right down. Xavier looked at the long, purple grass, swaying slowly in the breeze. Too slowly. His breathing didn’t quicken, nor did his heartrate. In fact, it barely felt like he was breathing at all, and his heart was quiet in his chest.
He looked over the field of corpses toward his party and the human army. His party were jogging over to loot the fallen, and it looked like they were running in slow motion.
My speed is over 100 now too.
The effect of breaking through that barrier was perhaps the most peaceful of all six of the attributes, as though the universe had finally slowed down, waiting for him to catch up.
The sensation didn’t last long, but he knew the shift to his Speed would be substantial—just as every other attribute had been when he’d reached the threshold of 100 points.
The others were right to suggest I do this before selecting my class.
A new title popped up, one he’d wondered if he would get.
Title Unlocked!
All 100: This is a common title that everyone receives when they have reached 100 stat points in all 6 attributes.
You have received +5 to all stats!
Title Unlocked!
First to All 100: You are the first person from your world to reach 100 stat points in all 6 attributes.
You have received +10 to all stats!
Holy crap! Xavier blinked, staring at the two titles. They gave him far more than he’d thought. I got 15 in all stats just for being the first to do that?
The System really did favour progenitors.
Part of me was expecting there to be a title for reaching this before gaining my first class, or reaching E grade… I suppose that would be too greedy?
Xavier shook his head, barely believing just how much stronger he’d become. But there was still one more title to read. The one he’d been hoping to see.
Title Unlocked!
Third Floor Ranked 2 (Completion Time – 1 min 21 sec): Out of all the Champions from all the worlds in the Greater Universe who have completed the Third Floor of the Tower of Champions in every possible instance, you have edged into the top 100 fastest times at No. 2.
This title is a Temporary Title. If your record is edged out of the top 100, your title will be lost.
You have received +20 to all stats!
Note: As you have a similar title, “First Floor Ranked 42” has been combined with this title and shares its stats. You may still view the previous title and your standing on the ladder, if you will it.
Xavier, still struggling to come to terms with how powerful he’d become, stared at the title. He had to read what he was ranked several times before it sunk in.
Third Floor Ranked 2.
He’d cleared the floor in one minute and twenty-one seconds? He knew he’d been fast, but that fast?
I used Spiritual Trifecta 5 times, that’s a minute and ten seconds, it must have taken a little time for us to be transported to the human army…
In 5 minutes, you and your party will be returned to the Staging Room.
Xavier shook off his awe, looking at the timer. It had already gone down by a minute since he’d been reading all of those titles. Usually a floor only gave them thirty seconds, so he was surprised to get this long.
He began looting the corpses, helping out the others, but all he could think about was what his class choices might be. He hadn’t even brought up the selection menu yet, and the anticipation was killing him.
But this had been the right decision. Breaking through the 100-point threshold on all six attributes… he felt like a new man. Like he’d passed some sort of barrier.
And with all those titles he’d just gained…
I’m going to tear through this tower like no one ever has before.
Though, looking at his last title, he knew that mustn’t be true. He’d gotten high up the ladder. Very high. Somehow, out of everyone in the entire Greater Universe who’d ever cleared this floor, he was the second fastest to do it.
And he’d done it in less than a minute and a half.
Who in the hell could have done it faster than that?
The chances of him ever finding out—of ever meeting whoever did it—were incredibly miniscule. Perhaps totally impossible. The tower had been around for billions of years, after all.
It made him think of the first Denizen once more. The first… progenitor. If Xavier got these titles for being the first from his world to do these things… what titles had the first in the Greater Universe gained?
Is that who has taken the number one spot? The first progenitor of the Greater Universe?
The very thought sent a shudder up his spine. He knew he was strong, but he couldn’t help but remember how many Lesser Spirit Coins a single Grand Spirit Coin was worth.
One hundred thousand… is that how many times stronger this first progenitor would be compared with me?
