Canute coerces peace by displaying overwhelming force. Do you think threatening mass destruction to avoid war is morally different from waging war openly?

Tartaros

Is Canute satisfied? What would Ragnar think about Canute now?

Elsa

Thorkell tells Canute that lasting peace can only be won “with blood and iron,” and he compares it to how Askeladd fought relentlessly to protect Wales which was peace carved through war. Yet, Season 1 already gave us another philosophy through Thors: that true peace cannot be born from killing, only from understanding and forgiveness. Now that Canute has fully embraced the first path while Thorfinn might potentially slowly drifts toward the second, which do you think the series will ultimately present as the truer path to peace?

Isaiah

Canute is ruthless in eliminating other threats to his power, does he still believe in his goal? If so, do the ends justify the means here?

Shinji - 真嗣

We take a break from Thorfinn's story this episode to catch up with our OTHER remaining main character, Canute. Doe he seems like the same person he was in season one after having tasked himself with unifying his new kingdom? Also, what are your thoughts on Thorkell's reaction to this ensuing peace?
