2025-09-23 17:05:17 +0000 UTCLet me see if I can explain this in a helpful manner. The defense force makes almost all their gear from Kaiju. The suits, ammunition, weapons etc. Vice Captain Hoshina's twin swords are made from a Kaiju, but I don't believe it is a numbers weapon made from the STRONGEST of Kaiju. A good parallel is the Nichirin blades in Demon Slayer. They are all made from this ore that can kill demons, just like the Kaiju gear let's you fight Kaiju. However, Tanjiro's new sword is of elite quality and is stronger than any other nichirin sword. That is similar to what a Numbered Kaiju weapon is to their regular equipment. Reno's potential Numbered Weapon is a Suit similar to Kikoru's mom (she wore 4 i believe) NOT the weapon he wields. Keep that in mind moving forward π

2025-09-23 16:02:13 +0000 UTCHey so to clarify (even though it seems like you realized it by now), Hoshina's daggers are NOT a Number's weapon, they are a unique weapon. They explained this VERY briefly in Season 1 when they gave Kikoru her axe, but there are UNIQUE weapons and these are usually given more frequently than number's weapons and are not dangerous, but are made for the individual user. A few examples of members that have UNIQUE/CUSTOM weapons: - Kikoru, her axe - Mina, her big fucking gun/sniper, - Hoshina, his swords/daggers - Narumi's gunblade - Rin's Minigun (she's a member of the first that was fighting with Kikoru) Those are given much more freely as they are NOT numbers weapons and are more just created to compliment a user's fighting style/their personality traits
