I am so excited for the power system to be introduced, but you're still a bit away from it. It truly is one of the best power systems of all media. Very complex yet simple.

Hunter x Hunter is fantastic, but it's stacked with its god-tier episodes, all of which are on the back end of the series. At this rate, it will take a full year to get to the Greed Island arc, which is when the show really starts picking up.

It was so overpowering that every wild animal in a pretty large radius ran for the hills, in the sub Gon describes it as feeling like being in the middle of a dangerous jungle. Probably makes it difficult to sneak up on people, i reckon Hisoka just had to spend all night just to conceal his bloodlust the way Gon is hiding his presence.

2025-03-02 18:38:51 +0000 UTCI think this episode shows a crucial difference between Gon and most other Shonen Protagonists: If it were Deku or Naruto or Edward, they would have tried to _warn_ the person encountering Hinsoka. Gon doesn't really care about them. he has no qualms letting this situation play out. He _knows_ their going to die if they encounter Hisoka like this and it never even crosses his mind to intervene. he did cosnider it for Kurapika and Leorio, because he _knows_ them, but Gon is very Neutral towards most people he doesn't consider friends and while he doesn't kill, he also isn't really fazed by the death of humans.

2025-03-02 02:21:46 +0000 UTCKnowing about the power system that is to come has yall taking some WILD turns (not all bad) The author is on record saying that he didn't even conceptualize the power system until later in the writing. So what Hisoka was displaying in the forest was as Montana said, just a stylistic choice. This was also the second swing at this anime (1999 being the original I believe) so it is possible that they are trying to hint at a power system without TELLING us. HXH is great at explaining stuff. So if there is a informational question you have 9.5 times out of ten the dialog will outright answer it for you. Im excited for you to keep watching.

2025-03-01 22:07:52 +0000 UTCThe aura you seen is just a visual representation of the bloodlust/malice he was oozing so much so all the animals could sense it and ran, so he had to stand there all night to get it under control but lost it again when he seen the old man and once he got the kill he was back to his "normal" self.

I believe Gon is actually more like Bakugo: they both hate losing/being confronted with their own weakness, and they don’t want to owe anyone. Both desire to achieve their goals with their own strength, not because someone handed them the win or went easy on them.
